Helping people in both groups grow and succeed has been so rewarding, and I'm excited to do more! If you know anyone who might be interested in interview practice, or any exceptional high school coders looking for a challenge, reach out directly or through my website (in bio). 🙂

Hey friends, quick update! I've switched gears professionally and now mostly do 1:1 instruction, focused on A) preparing software engineers for technical interviews, and B) coaching exceptional high school students for the USACO contest system. (These are surprisingly similar!)

@fearthecowboy @Pilchie @matthejo We have 3 Ubiquiti APs to share load. Switched from Hue to LIFX partly because of Hue Bridge limitations *several years ago*, incl. bulb count per bridge and bridge count in official app. Worth checking if going that route.

[David Poeschl 🏳️‍🌈 (he/him) @dpoeschl]

@fearthecowboy @Pilchie @matthejo Which brand of smart bulbs? We have ~130 LIFX bulbs and the setup works well for us. A bulb can be stubborn if changing the whole house at once, but room-by-room is great. We don’t use fancy features very much though (e.g. animations). Initial setup took many hours.

@cydharrell @boltron Not “late” exactly, but while in a plane waiting for takeoff, I watched another plane skid across a LaGuardia runway after the landing gear collapsed during landing. Trip home got more complicated at that point and I didn’t make it into work the next day. https://t.co/kJSlswpyeF

Hey all, my team on the @VisualStudio Editor is looking for a new lead. Come work with us on Editor, language integration, and GitHub Codespaces.

[David Poeschl 🏳️‍🌈 (he/him) @dpoeschl]

@ereliuer_eteer Thanks for the fun puzzle! Here's how @matthejo and I did it (we got an integer so we assume we're right). Is there a simpler way?

@dtothefourth I was also wondering your thoughts on adding a "preview song" option to the app. I found myself clicking every link in the app and previewing them on SMWC one tab at a time. I'm hoping if the site's JS can download/play the SPC files then maybe this app could too?

[David Poeschl 🏳️‍🌈 (he/him) @dpoeschl]

@dtothefourth This is amazing! I used it today on Double Jump Man (hack submitted today) and there was a track we were interested in that it didn't seem to recognize (though it got a bunch right). I'm guessing it's because the track is more recent than Jan 10 or maybe custom and not on SMWC.

1/ I haven't mentioned much about C# integration into Visual Studio yet, but at the same time we were working on creating a new language, a new runtime, and a new framework we also decided to take disparate shells (MSDEV, devenv, VB6) and combine them. This was… a lot.

[David Poeschl 🏳️‍🌈 (he/him) @dpoeschl]

@ardalis @billwagner Cheers from @matthejo & me!

[David Poeschl 🏳️‍🌈 (he/him) @dpoeschl]

@billwagner Awesome! A’bunadh is the best. Cheers!

America, I’m honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country.

The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not.

I will keep the faith that you have placed in me.

JOE BIDEN DEFEATS PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP

The Associated Press declares Joe Biden the winner of a grueling campaign for the American presidency. He will lead a polarized nation through a historic collision of health, economic and social crises.

Sorry Joe, but no. Those of us with less privilege cannot afford this stance when the opponent treats us as enemies first. Our rights have historically been and are still under attack by our opponents. While they persist, they are the enemy.

[Joe Biden @JoeBiden]

To make progress, we have to stop treating our opponents as enemies. We are not enemies.
