No health workforce = No healthcare,
No reform, No economic growth.
Malaysia needs a well-governed, equitably distributed & motivated health workforce ; with national norms, a central governance board & legal authority to align @KKMPutrajaya , @MOHEOfficial , @MINDEFMalaysia & @jpagov.
Thank you Prof @dr_elil for your tireless work & leadership in driving this urgent agenda.
On #ConsiderThis@Melisa_Idris speaks with Professor Dr Elil Renganathan @dr_elil about the strategic roadmap outlining long-overdue reforms in how we govern, train, deploy, and retain Malaysia’s health workforce.

A newly released strategic roadmap outlines long-overdue reforms in how we govern, train, deploy, and retain Malaysia’s health workforce. But will it move from paper to practice? On #ConsiderThis I ask Professor Dr Elil Renganathan @dr_elil about turning strategy into action.
Salam 🇲🇾MADANI All ❤️
The future of Malaysia’s healthcare system hinges on one critical lever: Our Health Workforce.
📍 With an ageing population, pandemic of NCDs, and fast-evolving technologies, transforming our Human Resources for Health (HRH) is no longer optional, it is moral & social imperative.
Today, I took a step back from the spotlight and chose to be the Moderator instead.
Why? Because this HRH Report belongs to the many who worked tirelessly for the past 8 months. I wanted to honour and engage them:
🌟 Prof Dato’ Dr Adeeba
🌟 Prof Dr Elil Renganathan
🌟 Members of SEG & HTO
🌟 Dedicated officers across KKM
The Report puts forward bold, systemic reforms:
🔹 An Independent HRH Governance Board
🔹 A real-time digital HRH planning platform
🔹 Competency-based education & CPD
🔹 Empowerment of the community health workforce
🔹 Seamless digital integration in practice & training
Our health workers are the backbone of the healthcare system. Let us move with urgency, to rebuild trust, resilience and equity in our system.🤲🤲✊✊
The @GPHC_Panel welcomes the adoption of the amendments to the #IHR at #WHA77, but the urgency for a #PandemicAgreement remains. The Panel strongly supports the decision to extend the mandate of the INB to finish its work as soon as possible.

Powerful reflection from @JemilahMahmood ahead of #COP28 "The connection between the climate crisis and human health has never been clearer. And yet, like any other addiction, kicking the fossil fuel habit is proving very difficult."@DrTedros@DrMariaNeira https://t.co/28hcKJJSSw
