Sahibzada Farhan shows real quality. He flat bats to be effective in T20 but hits straight. Two hundreds in this tournament makes him a standout batsman.
Proud, humbled, delighted. Frailty Academy wins ! 👏👏🥳🍾
Thank you to everyone who has supported us and all of the frailty team @RoyalSurrey
You know who you are !
This is one of the big reasons why it’s important to do a 4 AT on everyone over 65, and why we must consider preventative delirium interventions for people with a 4AT of 1-3 as well as higher scores
☑️ New research in @Age_and_Ageing
⭐️The 4AT is more than a #delirium tool: a score of ≥1 has an 87% sensitivity for known #dementia in older hospital patients.
➡️ Could assist in identifying dementia in hospital inpatients.

The incredible Fauja Singh has been used in Frailty Academy teaching for many years. A testament to healthy ageing and the power of exercise. And the socialisation he had in later life through community and celebrity. Sad to see he did not die of natural causes. Phenomenal life!
Couldn't agree more @lucypgeridoc ! If a care home resident is really unlucky, they fall and ambulance crew follow protocol which says off to ED and all else follows.
Ambulance/paramedic access to cons geriatrician can reduce conveyances but NICE guidance needs to change.
1.8% of patients CFS 6-9 survived to discharge. https://t.co/XYgEtwrDzy
In this study by @lucypgeridoc , those patients who do survive to discharge often have QoL not compatible with their values. https://t.co/Ykersg78X9
Our president, @JKDhesi, appeared on BBC Breakfast talking about frailty in January. Visit our Frailty Hub here: https://t.co/bygX3gm22X And stay tuned for more of our key achievements from the last year.
Professor Rockwood four magic numbers
75 - age where everything takes off
72- hours to get the frail older adult turned round in hospital
5- Simplify & prioritise CGA. Mobility, Engagement, Cognition & Function
80/20- the team should be able to address 80% of the care plan.
Terrific inspiring words from my lovely wonderful colleague Vanitha Regunathan. Explaining exactly why we’re developing our tier 3 workforce to meet the needs of our population through our frailty academy @RoyalSurrey@GeriSoc#ChooseGeriatrics
