The +972/Guardian articles alleging that the IDF’s internal data indicates it has killed fewer than 9,000 militants in Gaza misconstrues the available data, improperly combines IDF and Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry figures, and fails to ask key questions. Very long thread 🧵
I just left the Gaza Strip. I was in one singular lot that contained enough aid to feed EVERY GAZAN for days.
LOOK AT THE PALLETS BEHIND ME. YOU ARE BEING LIED TO
Dems are hemorrhaging voters because they chose all the wrong constituencies.
They seem to care more about illegal aliens than American citizens, violent criminals more than law-abiding citizens, & Palestinian flag more than the American flag.
What did they think would happen?
Eylon @EylonALevy is 100% right. This misinformation story takes a number, which the IDF have now publicly stated as false (https://t.co/P3nFXpUqg9), and then tells the story that that means anyone not on the list of named combatants is a civilian, which is a lie. Thousands of unnamed but estimated combatants have died in close combat and air strikes in Gaza.
As a reminder, a combatant is a term that applies primarily to members of the armed forces of a party to the conflict, as well as members of organized armed groups that meet the requirements. Combatants are distinguished from civilians because they may be lawfully targeted during conflict.
Members of the armed forces of a party to the conflict, members of organized armed groups belonging to a party, and recognized combatants can all be targeted as well as anyone that directly engages in the hostilities.
Direct participation in hostilities refers to acts that by their nature or purpose cause immediate harm to enemy forces or their military operations. Examples include firing weapons, throwing Molotov cocktails, or manning a checkpoint; emplacing or removing mines or improvised explosive devices; acting as a scout, spotter, or providing real-time targeting information; sabotaging military equipment or facilities; and transporting ammunition to the front line during combat, and definitely holding hostages (war crime)!
Civilians who engage in these activities lose their protection from attack for the duration of their participation. i.e. they are combatants at that time.
150 Israeli vacationers, aged 8 to 16, were denied entry to a leisure park in the southern Pyrénées-Orientales, France 🇫🇷, this Thursday.
Despite the group’s reservation being made well in advance, the park’s manager blocked their arrival, citing “personal convictions.”
He was later taken into police custody on charges of “discrimination based on religion in the context of offering or providing goods or services.”
The 150 children were then taken to another site in France, escorted by the police to ensure their safety.
Perhaps Macron’s government should take a closer look at its own country before declaring that ״France has no lessons to learn in the fight against antisemitism.״
My kids also protest when I say "eat your vegetables" or "brush your teeth."
D.C. is our nation's CAPITAL and it's for EVERYONE. So it must be safe for everyone, including the millions who visit from around the nation.
WOW: Israel is about to perform the world’s first spinal cord transplant - using a patient’s own cells.
Paralyzed people may soon walk again, thanks to Israeli science.
Breaking: Humans of New York just posted a fawning story about Marwa Abu El Nour, a Gazan psychologist working for Doctors Without Borders.
They didn't mention the fact that she's a bloodthirsty savage who wants to kill Jews
The only thing you’ve built in 160 days as PM is yet another bureaucracy.
We don’t need a new office, we need new pipelines, mines, ports, LNG & nuclear plants—and housing.
That means shutting down bureaucracies, not opening new ones.
