@randisagona A6 I enjoyed the book and this format for a book study/PLC. Sometimes I wanted to "chew" more on a subj, but I realized we could since the content is still available. I see how Twitter is being used in the professional world. I had stepped away from it until this PLC. #mechskdi
@MarcieH81118418@randisagona So true. It applies to everything in life - when it's too big, zoom into something that is manageable. I'm helping my daughter who is working and in graduate school with that right now.
@randisagona A5 I would like to be more intentional about building relationships with students. As an admin, I let myself get busy with "the work", and I don't take time with students, or staff for that matter, to really dive deep into building relationships. #mechskdi
@randisagona A4 That is a big jump. I like the book study that we had last year for Ss that were willing to join it and ELA has some good selections for Ss. High interest reading is key to promote literacy for posters and bathroom stall "news" are good ways to get Ss to read. #mechskdi
@cisjohns We learned that some students bring a dummy phone to check at the door and keep their real one. It is addictive. They must learn to use phones responsibly - just like we were saying for ourselves.
@randisagona A3 We let them keep their tech and ask that they keep it put away. Most comply. Ts talk to Ss first and then Admin will. Repeaters turn them in. We've considered hanging the shoe bag like some are doing and take them up - I'm just concerned about liability. #mechskdi
@randisagona A2 I don't have email notifications on. It's easy to get trapped into checking and answering emails all the time, so it's better to have dedicated time to check it, deal with it, and close it. If someone really needs me, they have my cell number. #mechskdi
@randisagona A1 I disconnect by leaving my phone on charge in my bedroom when I am home and should be busy with family, outside, walking, supper, etc . . . #mechskdi
