@hollieteach As an ECT it’s been massively educational for me to see these TikTok’s - especially those that show problems being fixed or classroom routines/teaching ideas. I see the safeguarding red flags, I also know I’ve learnt so much for my own practice by being able to observe others!
***🚨GIVEAWAY🚨***
To celebrate the upcoming release of my new book 📖 I’m giving away a copy. Just retweet and like this post to enter! 😊 #PowerfulQuestioning
@MissSadlerDrama In a very loose way, yes! We focus more on the dynamic of being a chorus and choral speaking/movement with a teeny bit of historical context in there. We don’t touch any of the actual Greek theatre texts though - too much incest 😂
@GlennMaxfield@OnionSV@Cooked86 @Trudgeteacher … do you also know that we don’t get paid for holidays? I’d much rather a longer academic year and less holidays if it meant I got actual holiday pay!
@Teacherglitter@primaryteachew I hope that her maturity and professionalism goes further than any of the teachers on Twitter than have gone out of their way to judge, comment and insult others in the profession.
@Teacherglitter@primaryteachew Interesting that you’ve added to the pot of hate towards the ECT without reading the original post. Also interesting that her promotion directly contradicts your implication of young, male bias as she is female.
@MrAllington Is stirring this poor girl into a Twitter-wide controversy really your best response to the matter? Regardless of your opinion, responding to endless tweets slating the girl is a bigger reflection of your maturity and professionalism than the teacher that’s been promoted.
Anyone know any good CPD for teaching PE as a non-specialist?
I deliver dance as part of the PE curriculum but the school are eager for me to up-skill in case of class swaps/cover.
I’ll be honest, I don’t even know where to start looking so any advice is appreciated!
@MrTs_NQTs
@MKEteaches (which they know means they’ve now entered the first level of our behaviour system AND it helps me to learn names!)
It’s by no means a perfect system, but it’s helped me tremendously in my new school as an NQT for learning names and ensuring I’m not ploughed down with LLD! ☺️
@MKEteaches I usually try to pick a kid that’s pretty popular or well liked by the class so that there’s no culture of ‘being a grass’. I’ll usually say something like “thank you to the two boys at the back who are continuing to talk whilst I am, (student) can you add them to the board” 2/
@ActiveLise I’ve not been let loose on the boys yet as this is the first year introducing dance to the curriculum at this school! Some of the KS4 boys do join me on their ‘core option’ lesson though and jump right in!
@MissMarleyPE 80’s aerobic competition videos) and then boxercise. If they do well with a genre then I extend it a lesson and teach a second routine! 🥰 (2/2)
@MissMarleyPE I’m running something like this for KS4 core PE - a different ‘dancercise’ genre each week. We do Just dance (which I’m yet to meet a class that isn’t OBSESSED), clubbercise (which we use disco lights and glow sticks for), 80’s aerobics (like those cheesy 1/2)
