The mask slips for the so-called ‘concerned residents’ of Coolock. Happy in the company of loyalists who have spent decades murdering nationalists and Republicans at the behest of the British state.
Belfast unequivocally made it clear today that refugees and migrants are welcome here. No matter what way the far-right try to spin it, I’m proud of everyone who came out today to make clear that Belfast is a home for everyone 🚩
Women athletes, especially those of colour, have long been abused by sexist men for not being ‘feminine’ enough. GC women who call themselves feminists have given these men a bright green light to escalate this misogyny. They are the orchestrator’s of racist, sexist hate speech
What a woman is Imane Khelif. Still standing after all the bullying misogynist, racist stupidity she's had to endure from fellow competitors and across the trash fires of social media. TERFs, 'gender critical' and 'ultra' flavours, serving scientific racism like its 1853.
If you frame asylum seekers as the problem, you have lost the argument (& votes) to the far-right already. There's more than enough hoarded wealth to invest in communities & treat asylum seekers like human beings. Give people hope for a better future instead of whatever this is.
What is striking in new SF policy about asylum is the absence of call for more resources for working class communities.
They want to audit resources but then consequence of not having enough isn't that you get the necessary resources, it's that you don't get asylum seekers!
@LNBDublin Unfortunately your own party's policy on international protection is playing directly into the hands of the Irish far right, which is a much bigger problem now.
Shocking dog-whistles from @MaryLouMcDonald on the radio, as well as shocking/wilful ignorance. I thought voting for Sinn Fein would be a no-brainer in the next election. Not any more. Shameful. How can decent Sinn Fein TDs and MEPs go along with THIS?
Absolutely shameless self-promotion here on my part - I’m delighted to have won the prize for the best presentation at the @PRIDEinResearch symposium today amongst a host of stellar work being done in this space. Big thank you to everyone involved.
So disgusted that this government which bangs on endlessly about the 'Irish diaspora', is becoming increasingly racist and cruel to migrants and refugees, instead of upholding our legal and moral obligations to them and making a better place for us all. Shameful
#RefugeesWelcome
Dark day when government TDs voted to detain people for arriving in Ireland to seek asylum. That’s what the EUs Migration and Asylum Pact will introduce. Worse still, it provides legal grounding for UK-Rwanda type deal. Shame on @fiannafailparty@FineGael and @greenparty_ie
It will go down in history that minister
@rodericogorman the
Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration, and Youth of Ireland who is supposed to protect children would be evicting 2,000 families into homelessness come the 5th of July.
