Residency Interview Tips:
1⃣ Research the program:
- Thoroughly research each program you are interviewing with. Understand their strengths, culture, and the types of patients they serve.
- Know the program's faculty, their research interests, and any unique features of the program.
2⃣ Know your application:
- Be familiar with your own application, including your CV, personal statement, and letters of recommendation. Be ready to discuss your experiences and qualifications.
3⃣ Practice common questions:
- Prepare answers for common medical interview questions, such as "Tell me about yourself," "Why did you choose this specialty?" and "What are your strengths and weaknesses?"
4⃣ Review your research:
- If you have research experience, be prepared to discuss your research projects, findings, and your role in them.
5⃣ Clinical Scenarios:
- Be ready to discuss clinical scenarios and patient cases.
6⃣ Behavioral Questions:
- Expect behavioral questions that assess your teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your answers.
