Charaka, the physician whose text, the Charaka Samhita became one of the founding works of Ayurveda, listed thirteen natural urges, a patient should never suppress - one of them is crying.

@dr_ericberg An early, lighter dinner and nothing after, which works out to about 12 or 13 hours overnight. Ayurveda cares more about eating with the sun than about a strict window.
@dr_ericberg Often in my shoulders and belly. In Ayurveda, stress tends to unsettle Vata, so warm food, slower breathing, and less rushing usually help more than pushing through.
@dr_ericberg Back to basics: warm water, sit down for the meal, and put the phone away. In Ayurveda, how you eat is part of digestion, not just what you eat.
@dr_ericberg Cook them with cumin, ginger, or a little ghee. In Ayurveda, how you prepare vegetables matters as much as eating them. Warm and spiced usually sits better than raw.
@AmalJos95950131 According to the teachings of H.H. Srila Prabhupada, caste is not determined by birth, but by the qualities of a person during their lifetime.
Waking up at 3 a.m. most days?
In Ayurveda, 2-6 a.m. is vata time, and stress raises vata dosha.
One gentle place to start : warm milk with a pinch of nutmeg before bed.
Cool mornings have me reaching for something warm before the day starts.
In Ayurveda, warm drinks land easier on digestion than ice-cold ones this time of year.
What’s your go-to warm drink right now?
I keep a book - physical book - the good old fashioned way of pen and paper and write down everything that needs to be done. Then I highlight the absolutely essential tasks and many times, everything becomes essential so you have to be very objective here. Then each day, choose just 2 items to do only. Then when done- draw a red line through the task. The joy and sense of accomplishment that comes with that!
@coachgretch2025 Very common! In Ayurveda, broccoli, cauliflower, and beans are known to be gassy and drying, especially for people prone to bloating. Cooking them well with cumin, ginger, or a pinch of hing (asafoetida) makes a big difference for many people. 🌿
Small habit that helps my digestion: I sit down for meals and put the phone away. Ayurveda says how you eat matters as much as what you eat. Try it for one meal today.
@danielgothits So totally agree. My best printer. I also got 3 - one for home, one for my clinic and one for my office at my husband’s clinic (for days when I see my patients at his clinic).
@dr_ericberg Paying attention to digestion first. In Ayurveda we say inflammation often starts with weak Agni, your digestive fire. Warm water, ginger tea, and not snacking all day made a big difference for me.
@BioavailableNd Ayurveda says something very similar. Cold drinks dampen Agni, your digestive fire, and weak Agni leaves behind what we call ama, the heavy, sluggish feeling. My first sip of the day is always warm. ☕
Changed the printer toner yesterday after ignoring the warning light like it was a suggestion.
Had a spare. Replaced it. Ordered another immediately.
