Doctor mansi oberoi - First of all, don't call this a student protest. Whenever I talk about reservation, these people around me start shouting. Reservation is harming fair education and it should be addressed.

The maid who comes to my house, her husband left her 3 years ago. Now she has 4 kids to feed. She is a Thakur. None of her kids will get reservation. We pay her 15k per month. That's all we can do. Her family is poor. When her kids grow up, they won't have any facilities. Instead, they will have to score 600+ in NEET to secure a seat.

Meanwhile, someone like Abhijit Diple, who may be earning lakhs or crores, his children will get reservation and may get a seat even after scoring 400. They don't need it. They already have a lavish lifestyle. Is this a wrong issue to address? Why am I being seen as the villain by all these protesters here if I am talking about this?

Good to see GC taking over the jantar mantar protest and addressing the most important educational issue 🙏

We wanted to protest for a UGC Roll Back at Ramlila Maidan, but many of us were placed under house arrest instead.

I am from OBC category and I oppose reservations.

Why OBCs should be against reservations??

Here are my points:

1) There is a creamy layer and a threshold of 8LPA. Only people below that get the reservations.

2) The cutoff of OBCs are almost similar to GCs because of the population of ours.

3) Politicians use us as Votebank to divide Hindus.

4) Almost all the parties including Modi, Fadanvis, BJP,Congress and others have included Muslims in OBC and ST lists. So, only Hindus are suffering.

5) We OBCs have to pay fees like General castes while other reserved people don’t pay.

6) We are more inclined towards Hinduism like GC people while most of the other reserved ones abuse our dharma.

7) We are affected by Modi act of 2018 as well.

8) This is slowing down the progress of the country.

9) There are not much age relaxations for us anywhere.

10) There are no government schemes which help us subsequently while all the schemes are for SCSTs.

11) The budget of SC ST is very huge while for us??

12) If reservations go away, then the overall cutoff will come down too which might be lower than current OBC cutoff.

It’s not 50%. It’s 75-80%. My daughter got admission to MD Paediatrics in a top govt medical college on a general quota seat. Only 22 of the 96 seats in the state were in open merit. She’s the only general quota candidate out of 8 children in that institute.

Repeating same lies and half truths doesn't override chemistry, material science, or basic economics. Let’s systematically bust the IT cell script which is being vomited by "influencers" without applying any brains.

1. Transparency & Hidden Reports
The Claim: Rollout is based on "extensive studies and field trials" by ARAI, IITs, and OMCs.
The Reality: While the Govt repeatedly cites research by ARAI, IIT Kanpur, and OMCs to justify safety, not a single comprehensive report has been made public. RTI requests seeking actual empirical testing data, material degradation logs, and long-term wear metrics on vehicles are routinely stonewalled. True scientific validation requires open, peer-reviewed data - not opaque citations behind closed doors.

2. The Economic Trap: Paying More for Inferior Fuel.
The Reality:
Base Cost Disparity: Procurement price for ethanol stands at ~₹70/L compared to base petrol at ~₹52/L (pre-tax/pre-duty).
Subsidy Burden: When accounting for indirect agricultural, distillery, and infrastructure subsidies, the true cost of ethanol swells closer to ~₹95/L.

Double Loss for Consumers: Consumers pay a premium base price for a fuel blended with a cheaper-to-produce compound, while taking a hit on fuel economy due to ethanol’s lower calorific value (~33% lower energy density than petrol). You are paying more per liter for fewer kilometers.

3. Physics vs. "No Significant Performance Variation"
The Claim: Older vehicles show no abnormal wear or performance issues.
The Reality: Ethanol is a strong solvent and highly hygroscopic (absorbs water from air). Over time, ambient moisture absorption inside a vehicle's tank and underground fuel station tanka, leads to phase separation - a water-ethanol layer drops to the bottom, causing severe misfires, corrosion in metallic tanks, and rubber degradation in non-E20 compliant fuel lines.
Logging complaints as 'Nil' is like a cat closing its eyes while drinking stolen milk - believing that because it can't see the damage, nobody else can either. Ignoring consumer real-world failures doesn't make the chemistry disappear.

4. The False Brazil Analogy 🇧🇷
The Claim: Ethanol blends are proven globally for over a century (e.g., Brazil).
The Reality: Brazil’s fleet runs on Flex-Fuel technology designed with anti-corrosive materials, remapped ECUs, and hardened engine components specifically built for E27/E100. Forcing E20 into an Indian fleet built under E5/E10 specs without retrofits or pure petrol options is an apples-to-oranges comparison.

Bottom Line
You cannot policy-mandate away the physical properties of ethanol or the basic arithmetic of fuel economics. Hide the research, ignore phase separation, charge more for less mileage - and then call real-world engine damage "unsubstantiated." Transparency is long overdue.

One pattern I find useful for working with LLMs is a nice long ramble session. Sometimes the LLM needs more bits to understand what you're trying to achieve, but you're too lazy to type them. In these cases I like to lean back, switch to /voice and just ramble for like 10 minutes, total mess, anything goes, full stream of consciousness. Sometimes I declare it up top, something like "switching to speech recognition sorry for any typos...". Sometimes I turn it into a small interview of a few turns. But I find that the LLMs are somehow very good at reconstructing long incoherent rambles and often their echo of your own tangle of thoughts comes out quite a bit cleaner than what you started with. The result is that you improve the mind meld and have to correct things less from that point on.
