FAO representative in India, Mr. Takayuki Hagiwara along with his colleague Dr Ashok Kumar Verma visited ICAR- IGFRI, Jhansi on 02 July, 2025. The director IGFRI, Dr Pankaj Kaushal briefed the institute's activities and achievements to the delegation while showcasing institute technologies at Technology Demonstration, Block. Followed by this, the delegation interacted with the heads and scientists of the institute and also visited outreach project sites of the institute. The major areas of discussion in the meeting were: sustainable management of the degraded landscape for fodder production in the Bundelkhand region including hortipasture, silvopasture, and pasture restoration technologies for advancing ecosystem and livelihood services.

One-day training on ‘Health Management of Small Ruminant Animals’ was organized today at IGFRI, Jhansi under the SCSP. Participating women farmers learnt about the feed, nutrition and health management of small ruminant animals (Goat & Sheep).
Dr. Gyanendra P. Singh, a well-known wheat breeder & Director, NBPGR, New Delhi visited IGFRI & interacted with scientists & suggested for advanced research. Director, Dr VK Yadav along with head of divisions welcomed him & briefed about institute's activities & achievements.
After serving #Shimla for more than Three years as a Deputy Commissioner, I have relinquished the charge and will be joining the next assignment soon. I wanna thank people of Shimla and DC office staff for all the learnings and experiences.
