In Maynooth Castle today. Our 2 boys got talking to Tadgh from @opwireland. He led us on a journey through time featuring apes saving babies, garderobes & ammonia dry cleaning, and the Wizard Earl of Kildare.
Brilliant! Bringing Horrible Histories to life!
@KildareHeritage
We caught this beauty. A Setaceous Hebrew Character, I am told. I can see a weird pair of eyes looking back at me.
Many thanks to Chris from Wild Kildare.
Very cool evening spent setting up #moth traps on the roof garden of our apartment block. Early start tomorrow to see what we've caught. Two or three moyhs already out.
#Sundayfishsketch update
E did the #dissection of the sea breem yesterday & drew this diagram. E really enjoyed the @CTYI. Highly recommended.
We also went to the amazing @CBL_Dublin and finished the day doing some water sampling in a local stream as part of @WatersProgramme
E came out of class yesterday with this drawing of the anatomy of a happy fish. #dissection of a Sea Breem will happen next Saturday. Either in a lab or outside. Not in the classroom, I'm told. Sounds messy ๐ E will draw it then and post.

This was really cool. I learnt a lot about why birds are important indicators of biodiversity, how lighthouses were useful for citizen science, and how making dead things look dead is harder than you think. Great way to spend my lunch break. Thanks @PaoloViscardi

So E attends a Catholic school (although we have no religion). They do a book called Grow in Love. Today in class they were asked to draw their favourite parts of God's creation. I'm sharing E's as there are such lovely details showing his love for nature.

@Lampichthys E's marine biology course this month is for 8-12 year olds run by @CTYI in @DCU. Lots of kids really into life in the sea there. If any other participants on the course wanted to submit a #SundayFishSketch that'd be so cool.
This weekendโs #Sundayfishsketch#fishytheme brought to us by @drawanotherfish. Our young artist E is doing his first marine biology course! Heโs doing a fish dissection and our theme is going to be โfish dissection" so he (and you as well) can illustrate/post some internal fish.
