After prompting all day, I suddenly missed coding. Feeling at home in a codebase where you know every corner is a nice feeling. And by now I've been bit a couple times from vibe coding too hard. You cannot outsource your understanding. Creating things just by casting a spell is still very cool, but a correction is due in time.

Chaining a bunch of Higher Order Components was definitely a real thing, and it could get pretty gnarly. Render Props I think were aight too.

But other than that, I honestly think Class Components were better. I’d take them back if it made it clearer to bad useEffect users that React has an actual lifecycle lol.

building a company is largely the act of managing your own emotional state so the field around you remains coherent enough for other ppl to do their best work inside it.

basically founders set the emotional physics of the org. panic compounds. but clarity compounds too.
