Two of the worldโs rarest frogs have arrived at London Zoo ๐ธ
The critically endangered Atewa slippery frog and Afia Biragoโs puddle frog arrived from Ghana as part of an international rescue mission led by us alongside Herp Conservation Ghana and the Forestry Research Institute of Ghana.
With their forest habitat under increasing threat from mining, both species face a high risk of extinction in the wild.
Since arriving at London Zoo, weโve already achieved the worldโs first successful breeding of the Atewa slippery frog in human care, a major step forward for the speciesโ conservation.
Visitors can now see these extraordinary frogs at our Secret Life of Reptiles and Amphibians exhibit. Read more at https://t.co/Qe05ZmZ6jt
Thanks to the amazing players of @PostcodeLotteryUK for supporting conservation work helping protect threatened species around the world. #PostcodeLottery
