Being rigorous does not have to mean being cruel.
We can have high standards and also be kind in how we communicate them.
We can choose to support people in achieving their best rather than tearing them down when they fall short.
If you’re interested in feeding biomechanics, sensorimotor integration, or just want to see cute pictures of ferrets and happen to be at #SICB2023 you can come watch my talk! See you in the Brazos room on the second floor at 9:30 🥳

#SciCommSaturday Our program at the Athens Public Library @MyACPL was a big success—with a great turnout! Lots of super-engaged families & lots of smiles! Hands-on ftw!
Thanks so much to our team of grad students & undergrads!
More photos later (I need a nap...& maybe a 🍺!)
It's #WorldSeaTurtleDay, & we've been studying green sea turtles & loggerheads as part of @DjasaurusDj Morgan's PhD work on cephalic adaptations of extinct marine reptiles.
We're grateful to partner with @FloridaAtlantic, @MyFWC, & @USFWS to obtain these beautiful specimens. 🐢
Help! Doctoral student @DjasaurusDj Morgan has contacted maybe dozens of people/firms looking for frozen carcasses of any varanid (monitor/goanna)—or just the head & neck—for vascular injection & diceCT.
Please DM us if you have or know of any. Thanks! 🦎
King cobra venom can kill an elephant, but can it kill a dermestid colony? Serious question.
@DjasaurusDj Morgan successfully—& carefully (danger!)—did a venous injection of this beautiful cadaveric cobra. We're ready to skeletonize it but wonder if the beetles will survive. 🐍
Soon #HeritageHall here at @OUHCOM will be welcoming in the family & friends of those generous folks who donated their bodies for science & medical education. Our students, faculty. & staff will also be here to offer our gratitude. 1st since 2019 and always a moving service!
We're very happy to welcome back @SeishiroTada to our lab! Sei visited us 2019, & is now a PhD student in Taka Tsuihiji's lab at the University of Tokyo. He'll be here through October, doing parts of his doctoral research on sauropsid nasal cavity evolution. Stay tuned...!
