Folks, if you live in a U.S. city with bad or no transit, it’s because a bunch of your NIMBY neighbors attend transportation committee hearings to make sure your tax money goes to parking lots and road widening.
It’s not a nefarious oil industry plot.
Laying in bed every night thinking "Wow, it would be so nice to read before bed." The book is right next to me. I have chosen the book. I have prepared the book. Why can I not pick up the book. Why can I not open the book and read the book. Why is there only Scrolling.
@thecaseygould Print statements are great when I want to run a big function and have a high view of what's what when, which helps me figure out where I should use the debugger to really figure out what's going on.
I’ve been to an awards ceremony at my son’s school today. Kids were awarded for 100% attendance, and specifically for coming into school when ill and “pushing through.” A teacher was awarded for working every evening &always being available.
This needs to stop. It’s just wrong.
WTF Twitter.
I started to see little to no DMs: and I keep my DMs open at all times, on purpose.
Twitter SILENTLY changed my (maybe everyone’s?) settings to only allow messages from only people I follow + verified users.

@diannaeanderson i thought peer pressure would be about a dude coming up to convince me ~specifically~ to try meth, but it mostly turned out to be the general public trying to get me to take my mask off
Sometimes it feels like America’s basic political action-reaction cycle has shorted out and we never get to the reaction stage; instead, no matter what happens we just reset to pretending the country works the way that older Americans want desperately to believe it does

Then they all depart 😍.
Switzerland’s entire infrastructure is designed around this principle - stations, tracks, line extensions.
Imagine - a network designed *for transfers* instead of transfers being treated as some uncommon occurrence.
@d_feldman When I'm in a new city and I want to see their bus map, I'd much rather load a giant PDF into my phone and use my browser's native pan/zoom features than some shitty web-based map viewer.
After running up/downstairs to get a book for a customer and presenting her with it she said ‘oh actually I’ll just get it on Amazon’, then took a photo of it and handed it back to me.
If you want bookshops to exist stop being this lady.
@Komaniecki_R It's very convenient in hetero circles as it becomes much more common for couples to live together for many years before/without being married.
