This black singer had an idea for a movie called “Dreams” but the singer’s OWN LABEL wanted a white actor to play the lead.

The singer refused.

So they gave the singer a tiny “black film” budget, gave him the role (instead of John Travolta) & changed the title to:

Purple Rain

@itatiVCS Stay with it! Stay focus. You've got this.
We all went through those moments of questionings, as we slugged through our PhD research and write-ups. I am sure many would agree that it was worth it in the end... operative words "in the end". You will too.
Stay with it.

[Dr Cassandra Martnz-King @DrCassandra1]

@itatiVCS Good Lord! I wish I can give you a more motivating answer right now, but I can't. Let me say this however, you will look back in 5, 10 years time and say "WOW, what an achievement! I came through that alright and my body of work ie PhD Thesis attest to that." Power. You Matter!

[Dr Cassandra Martnz-King @DrCassandra1]

@SandraNoDuerme Congratulations! It gets easier with time. And pretty much worth all the hard work you have put in.
Well done.

This is factually incorrect. But the truth negates the reason y’all love pulling out that pic of Bernie all the time.

There’s another senator who participated in the CRM, fought for civil rights legislation and even attended the March on Washington.

His name is Mitch McConnell

@cpcville @michaelharriot Now, that is the question!!

Republicans say they didn’t vote for Ketanji Brown Jackson because she is “soft on crime.”

I can’t believe I am saying this but I agree with Republicans.

We CANNOT have have a Supreme Court justice who is soft on crime.
