๐ Just dropped the final paper in a trilogy nearly 25 years in the making! Thrilled to complete the narrative that started with my honours and continued through my PhD. It's been a long road, but the full story is finally out there! #depression#research#Psychology#cognition

1/2 Soul destroying.
Advising patients today I can no longer see them and to seek services elsewhere. Forced to yet again turn people away in crisis when an independent report showed clearly that those most severe benefited the most https://t.co/gMF0JXYTYb
Deeply disappointing the Federal Government will not be extending the temporary additional 10 psychology sessions beyond 31 December 2022, despite our extensive advocacy efforts as a community and profession to have the additional sessions made permanent https://t.co/tDXb4GqTKd
From 31 December Australians will have their 20 subsidised Medicare sessions cut to just 10.

@nick_coatsworth Can someone please explain to me why we need to reduce the isolation period when case numbers are relatively low at the moment? Last wk 38,000 cases = 0.3% of labour force (max), so only small improvement for workforce. Is the benefit worth the risk (โฌ๏ธ cases โฌ๏ธ death)?
What a fantastic first meeting welcoming the new Clinical College Committee Members. Please welcome Petra Skeffington, Daniel Brown, and Clair Lawson to the Committee. All these wonderful Clinical Psychologists volunteer their time to support our profession!
@luellabentley15@Ahpra If the claims made by Drs are evidence based then surely the Drs have nothing to worry about. Any Drs making claims that aren't supported by the scientific evidence should be the one's AHPRA are keeping an eye on.
@comhbha @_diamondconsult @nicjhig@Dr_Polarbird There is a sweet spot between poor care/high profit of some private practices and the inefficiencies of govt funded services = satisfactory care to a small number of patients at a high cost to the tax payer
@nicjhig Medicare rebate indexation was 1.6% when inflation is over 5%. Unless rebates are indexed to inflation then healthcare will grow less afordable each year.
