At RISE Costa Rica protecting childhood wonder is one of the most important things we do. Watch these beautiful moments of our kids bringing The Little Prince, Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, Dr. Seuss and Matilda to life.
@LeLiSapphire@dom_lucre Because first time registration requires those. Afterwards a DL is fine to actually vote. Real ID requires proof of lawful status but that is different than citizenship. One could be here lawfully but not be eligible to vote(Green Card).
@Unfiated Would it make sense to just buy Virtual Protocol instead. Don’t all agentic currency tokens run on that platform. i.e. however valuable the individual will be it won’t be more valuable then the platform itself over time. Lower risk, similar upside?
Hi, I’m David, and 10 years ago I left my successful real estate development career in NYC to build a family-focused residential community in Costa Rica @drcomf22
In this special installment of Rise and Shine video series, we look at back at all we have achieved in 2+ years of building Rise Costa Rica. The Rise families are now starting to move into their homes. Children are freely exploring their new natural world as they safely roam from place to place unrestrained. It took hundreds of meetings to curate the community of residents most aligned to the values of the Rise community. The exercised patience was worth it.

@Gabepluguez The highest leverage move for your experience as a father is to support your partner in choosing extended breastfeeding. Not to mention the extraordinarily benefits for your child. It’s a very fine line between helping and her feeling undermined but the pay off is enormous.
@spencertbarber LOL…9 years ago. For what it’s worth this resulted in locating a well location with 4L per second flow rate. I didn’t do it to locate a second well years later. Flow rate at that well was less than 1L per second. I can’t believe I overlooked dousing.
A couple thoughts…It’s natural early in a development career to feel nervous about the size of your market. However one paradox you will find is that by narrowing your focus and owning it without fear you exponentially increase the magnetism of your invitation and likely absorption rate. There are plenty of buyers in the world for almost any product type that fills their need state in positive value exchange. You only need a tiny, tiny fraction to be successful. Whichever path you choose, I would advocate for precision in its marketing even if it feels market narrowing.
With regard to fractional ownership, it looks great in the numbers but beware materially higher marketing costs and potential resistance from buyers regarding exit liquidity.
@carolinecwilder That’s a benefit but not a responsibility. I offer that for my child without question and would for my partner under the assumption it is not a persistent need. Otherwise they are not the person for me.
A Father Day story of mine.
I took our four year old daughter to Vegas for four days without telling my then wife and I’m ALIVE to tell about it.
For a lot reasons related to how we chose to parent, Kira by the age of four had only spent 1 night away from her mama in her whole life. We collectively decided it was time for multi night Daddy/Kira time(presumably at home) while Kira’s mother was at a retreat.
A few days prior to our trip, Kira and I were talking and I asked her what she wanted to do together. She told me she wanted to see the Eiffel Tower. Flying to Paris seemed out of the question but then it hit me there was another Eiffel Tower a lot closer. I decided I would surprise her with a special Daddy Kira adventure.
With no way to covertly pack prior to Kira’s mother departing, I had precious little time between Mama’s 6am departure and our 8am flight. After she left, I woke Kira up and told her I had a big surprise for her. She was ecstatic.
And then life started really smiling on us. When we got to the Bellagio Las Vegas, I asked whether they might consider upgrading our room since it was my daughters first time to Vegas. Given it was UFC and NASCAR weekend I was not optimistic but after 10 min of checking they came back with amazing surprise. The could put us in a room on the top floor in between two Presidential penthouses looking right down on the famous Bellagio water show AND facing the Eiffel Tower at Paris Hotel.
Kira and her mother had a FaceTime video call that first night. After about 5 min and not recognizing the background her mother asked Kira where she was. Kira’s response? “ VEGAS BABY...VEGAS”. After the initial shock, her mother asked Kira if she was kidding and had I told her to say that at which point Kira pointed the phone towards the view out our window and said No, Mamma...Look!
For the next four days Kira and I had the time of our lives. Children’s Discovery Museum, Cirque du Soleil Mystere, botanical gardens, pool time, dolphin show, white tigers, top of the Eiffel Tower tour and much more. I have been to Vegas a lot when I was younger but never like this. In bed at 8pm and up at 6am instead of the reverse. We can’t wait to go back.
I had not thought of it that way. My own experience is that many adults are only able to pick up certain types of sets whereas children seem to be able to see all of them more equally. Last year the President of a very well known NYC financial firm came to visit us with friends and the kids mopped the floor with them over and over for days. Makes me smile just thinking about it.
