@laura_lopez_23 @MattMo711 @adiaz461 Psychology is finding that humans can follow through at greater rates with they are "nudged" or reminded. Apps and telephones are better at this than phones.
I think ๐ค Anaโs point about changing how teachers teach is important to the educate kids well for SMA. How many of you would be comfortable using Twitter or Flupping your own class? #LS461SMAchp13
@JesssG23 Fair point. What about the concept of blended learning? The assumption is that kids use tech so they do not need more. Remember they are self taught and do not know what they need to know about digital literacy. Who will teach them?
@MattMo711 @laura_lopez_23 @adiaz461 I think we need solid deliberation and evaluation of what we know through science and experience applied to the public. We are seeing this issue with guns and schools. It's hard but good conversations worth having to solve the issue. #LS461SMAchp13
@sarahbattles07 @MattMo711 @anavera2017 Here's the role of science in society. Recent studies published on these exact Qs. Here is an informational text: https://t.co/K3ZYrhCgz6 Use your degree to expand your knowledge beyond college to stay informed for decision making after graduation and for life. #LS461CritReflect
@laura_lopez_23 Worry is okay. As long as we temper it with doses of new information and knowledge to think about how to address or resolve issues.#LS461SMAReflection
Humans have choices about tech. We can make those choices based on values we want to build a functional and sustainable global society. ๐ฐ Lost os work but we're worth it! #LS461SMAReflection
It is difficult not to get scared by the possibilities of utopian or dystopian society related to tech. That's my fast thinking. So I have to stay vigilant to know that my emotions are not the same as the knowledge present in SMA. #LS461SMAReflection
@laura_lopez_23 Some schools are having good success with this model when the teaching style is focused on growth mindset and self-directed learning not the traditional banking theory, where students learn to he helpless without the teacher. Blanca's point abt changing way Ts teach. #461SMAchp13
Remember Everyone should reply to the #LS461CritReflect post and reply to others by 12 pm Friday, March 9, when our Twitter Learning Network ends for the term.
@laura_lopez_23@laura_lopez_23 great show of resilience, perseverance. Both important skills to life and learning. Learning can be hard, as we know through slow thinking. When we have to short cut our fast thinking response to slow down and analyze and evaluate. #LS461CritReflect
@SMVliberalstudy @Lita_Miriam Yes! Deeply, too. Knowing how humans feel, think about issues through disciplines in humanities, learning abt large patterns of human behavior, thought through social science and effects on humans and the world around is a powerful way 2 see into, around issues. #LS461CritReflect
@MattMo711 @anavera2017 What a great thread! You are demonstrating the value of LS degree, taking the interdisciplinary perspective we take on topics and broadening them t have discussion about real-life issues and continuing to learn.๐๐ผ
