Facial recognition startup FaceFirst has pitched a coronavirus health passport system, though concerns around civil liberties and privacy abound https://t.co/pc7S57wkjA
Code blue. We sprint to the room of a COVID patient younger than me. Chest compressions fail. Time of death is called. We walk back to our workroom silently. We stare at our screens for a while. And then a pager rings, reminding us that the night carries on and so do we.
Since it’s now about opinion- could the article be borne from cabin fever and said jealousy? The article written attempts to be objective while peppered with a scintillating anecdote of a row with a neighbour.... Covid-19 certainly has brought out the best and worst in humanity
I just saw an Instagram of my friend’s kid getting onto the school bus in Hong Kong after a long lockdown and the jealousy I felt was irrational and huge.

It’s easy for people to comment on the situation in the comfort of their home. Taking this chance to highlight the flaws of society (which obviously is present in every) without suggesting solutions begs the question:
Which part of this article is constructive?
I wrote about Singapore:
“The 2 faces of the state, caretaker and authoritarian, are intertwined and omnipresent. I’ve been extorted, scolded, cheered up, menaced, coddled, invited to conspire and reminded, all the while, that it’s for my own good.”

My son Luca and my daughter Bella have received this letter from our CEO @simonweldonkgh.
This is a real class act. I am proud to work for @KettGeneral.
Thank you Simon!

I'm so confused by this sentiment that wearing a mask is "living in fear."
If you wear your seatbelt, are you living in fear?
If you wear sunscreen, are you living in fear?
If you wear a bicycle helmet, are you living in fear?
Smart living is NOT living in fear.

Not a single one of us working in the NHS isn't a bit scared to go to work, to get in to that ambulance, to go into side room 3, to go into X's house.
This is when we transcend our training. We'll look after each other, with the country at our backs.
We have pandas, and then we have koalas and they make really good friends! 🐼🐨
@BenSadeghi gave an awesome talk + demo on Koalas at @fossasiasg - running Pandas-like codes on a Spark cluster! ⚡
Probably the most important slide of the conference already. Phenomenal work by @SParkerSurgery @al_windsor presented in first session @awreurope - we have to start talking the same language
Fantastic presentation from @DrOliverWarren on setting up a complex abdominal wall MDT at @ChelwestFT. This should become the gold standard for treating patients like these, they deserve the best outcomes #awreurope2020
Patient education about hernia surgery, especially considering the many options & complexity of abdominal wall reconstruction and its outcomes, should be a high priority. Whiteboard drawings are my fav to describe anatomy, loss of domain, fascial closure, CST, fixation, etc
There are no words to explain how epic the @RoyalLondonHosp @ed_rlh Christmas Party was. “Guest appearances” from Madonna, the Spice Girls and Hugh Jackman mean I will need a lot of time to debrief what happened this evening
