@Jcg17@jareddiamond Nimmo was also involved though. And if he and syndergaard are leaving the Mets in a trade, they should be getting a whole lot more than Realmuto and Andujar regardless of how good they are.
Brodie Van Wagenen is about to ruin the #Mets present and future in the first month since becoming GM.... if he trades Noah Syndergaard, I will be absolutely disgusted....
I wouldn’t have a problem trading away Rosario for Realmuto. Rosario will be very good, but Realmuto is already very good an is at a position of need. Two-way catchers are scarce in the league and the #Mets have my full blessing. #MetsTwitter#mlb#realmuto
I used to be a huge Dom Smith fan. Someone who can hit and get on base while being an above average defender was intriguing to me. Now it’s time to package him up with mid tier prospects and go after someone who will provide the team with fresh energy
The Mets fans deserve to see money well spent by this organization. Andrew Miller should still be a target to help improve the bullpen. Charlie Blackmon should be offered a contract and if not him then take a flyer on AJ Pollock. Britton and McCutchen should also be considered
What the #Mets should have done:
Sign Brian Dozier
Sign Charlie Blackmon
Sign Craig Kimbrell
Trade Dunn, another two prospects in our top 10 and Bruce for JT Realmuto
What the #Mets have essentially done so far this offseason was replace Jay Bruce with Cano in our lineup(which adds salary) and traded two A-B level prospects for a closer while moving forward with a glaring hole at center field. (Which Kelenic plays)
@kjones4215 Diaz is very good. So is kimbrell, so is Andrew Miller. #Mets can sign one of them (for less than Cano would be making) and use McNeill at 2nd, sign a third basemen and compete in the present, and almost more importantly, in the future
Headlines saying that the Mets are close to finalizing a deal for the “all star” Cano... it’s not 2007 anymore. He’s a good 36 year old player making way too much money, on the backend of his career who the #Mets are giving up a 5-tool prospect for.... horrifying first move BVW
@1rishPride I agree about the first couple years being tolerable. When he is 40 and 41 making millions, that’s when the problem begins. And that’s also when Kelenic will be 23/24
Mets should sign Andrew Miller AND Kimbrell to improve their bullpen, use McNeill at 2nd and sign a versatile infielder to improve from last year. I don’t like seeing Kelenic and Dunn’s names in trade rumors....
Jarred Kelenic better not be involved in the Mets acquisition of a relief pitcher and a 36 year old batter. Kelenic is a HUGE part of the #Mets future and BVW would lose a lot of respect if he lets this 19 year old phenom go....
Very unimpressed with Val Nichushkin this season. Always hyped up to be a great offensive power forward, but the numbers are never there. Definite trade bait.
@bababue7@NHLFlyers Disagree. I think they have the depth to compete for a playoff spot this season as long as Couturier and Patrick step up. A goalie that can stop a puck would make a huge difference too lol.
