I think when people say "decolonize your mind" they mean from white supremacy — and I think it actually includes deprogramming yourself from all the other stuff too (religion, patriarchy, homophobia, capitalism, etc) because those things are also white supremacy believe it or not
Notice how New York City is enjoying one of its most peaceful periods of time on record the last 6 months under a democratic socialist mayor that didn’t run on any kind of ‘tough on crime/expand police force’ rhetoric

Black queer people have spent generations turning rejection into culture, pain into art, and exclusion into movements. Imagine what we’d build if we weren’t fighting just to survive.
Those of us who teach reading & writing should not be teaching students how to 'game the system' by encouraging (or even allowing) AI use in our classes; we should be teaching them how to actually use their brains; we should be teaching knowledge production, not slop production.
