Everyone deserves the same respect we expect from others, even those we may see are different from us. 

Making fun of a person’s disability and excusing it as a form of humor is never acceptable. Disability should never be used as a punchline or a reason to demean someone. People with disabilities are individuals with their own abilities, aspirations, and potential, and they deserve dignity, equal opportunities, and respect.

May we learn to be kinder and free ourselves from the toxic mentality that a person’s disability justifies insulting, judging, or discriminating against someone. Let us all work together to create safe and inclusive spaces, both physically and virtually.
