@Anthonybookedit It's a dark gothic romance about power embalance, secrets, loss of identity, manipulation, classim, and what happens when the scales are tipped and the truth uncovered 😊 even though it's set in the regency era it requires a lot less research bc it's more psychological.
Do you ever see a kid in public & think "what a weird kid, I wonder if their parents think they're weird" & then your kid does something even weirder? Worse yet, you do something & your own child gets embarrassed by you and says "Please. Stop," closing their eyes solemnly.
@write_and_sigh I'm supposed to be gluten and dairy free, it's so hard with a big family and the price increase of a specialized diet 😭 Those look super good though
honestly, some books would be better if the author deleted the first 50 pages.
i don’t need 3 chapters of worldbuilding before anything happens.
i don’t need the main character’s entire childhood before i know why i should care about them.
and i definitely don’t need 17 characters introduced before i’ve learned to remember the first 4.
start the story. let me get attached. make me ask questions.
you can explain the world while i’m busy falling in love with it.
but maybe that’s just me.
how much setup is too much setup?
@goodtimesatngt@HDunn_Writer I think they lower testosterone levels too, something about the chemicals used to make scented products I think is what I heard.
Nailed it! In short: "Respect the author. Respect their time. And above all, stop confusing genuine connections with potential sales opportunities."
Couldn't have said it better myself, and would have sworn profusely for the duration. 📚
