Even kids get it: when the richest folks contribute, we can all thrive. But right now, conservative legislators are siding with the wealthy few and biggest corporations. Yuck.

I want everyone in Minneapolis to be able to make it home at the end of the day
I want everyone to feel and be safe
I want shootings on the Northside to be as rare as shooting anywhere else in our city
This is why we need violence *prevention*, not just a system of response.
We are going to dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department.
And when we’re done, we’re not simply gonna glue it back together.
We are going to dramatically rethink how we approach public safety and emergency response.
It’s really past due.
Whittier neighborhood: There are white supremacist trolling the neighborhood with their lights turned off trying to start fires in POC owned businesses. They were stopped from lighting Marissas Bakery and Pimento already
CALL TO ACTION: A coalition of organizers in Minnesota has developed a toolkit to demand justice for George Floyd. George was murdered by the MPD on Monday, May 25, 2020, and the police and system responsible must face justice. Take 15 minutes of your time to do the following.
@reclaimtheblock If anyone needs a quiet place to sit, drink tea, bathroom, water, decompress rn. We are open at 3260 Minnehaha (*no medical here*). Please RT.
Tell @MayorFrey and the City Council to honor the life of #GeorgeFloyd and to start holding the @MinneapolisPD accountable. Call Mayor Frey and tell him: “Cut MPD’s budget. We need money to keep our communities healthy during the pandemic, not murder them in the streets.”
We miss our families, our local spots, live music, crowded parks, political rallies & hugs, yes, hugs.
But we know we pull through by pulling together.
We don’t #StayAtHome because we’re afraid, or because @GovTimWalz told us to.
We do it for each other.
We’re #WhoCaresForUs.
Minnesotans – no matter our race, religion or zip code – care deeply about our families. We've seen healthcare workers, public school employees, childcare workers, janitors & more step up during this crisis and keep us safe. Now let's build a gov't #WhoCaresForUs. #mnleg
y'all do understand why we don't get universal programs and relief right? because the white imagination is captured by the prospect of lazy Black people getting money for nothing. That is the whole game. Unless you alter that American imagination, you gets nothing.
When times get tough, we pull together. Through this pandemic, we’ve truly seen #WhoCaresForUs – let’s make sure those front-line employees in healthcare, schools, security, and childcare have the equipment they need to stay safe, keep the lights on, and put food on their tables.
It was hard to put these thoughts onto the page, but I’m grateful to the @nytimes for the opportunity.
If you’re in this fight to save lives, I’m in this fight with you
