@Shopify@ShopifySupport please go back to the regular inventory lay out. The new “on hand” is more confusing and unnecessary. It’s not helpful when it still shows an item is on hand, even if it has sold. Especially on the mobile device.
Shopify changed how you can track inventory and it had stuff showing sold out when it was available all because it was listing as arriving and not on hand. Annoying af
Then after trying to explain the flaws in their new “on hand” system got this actual quote from @Shopify support last night: “those changes are being raised by most of the merchants, but for that search tab, as they say, you’ll get used to it”
@WeichangLAI@ShopifySupport@dressew When you first open the Shopify app to check how much inventory is left on a product it looks like this. On Hand is super misleading. See next post/photo for why this is a problem.
@WeichangLAI@ShopifySupport@dressew There is only 175 Available, but before clicking the “more” link on previous screen you don’t see that. You see an inaccurate number that will include items already sold but not Fulfilled.
@WeichangLAI@ShopifySupport@dressew@ShopifySupport This screen should display Available, not On-hand. It’s not only confusing at first glance, but it’s not intuitive when trying to add or remove inventory quickly and accurately. User should be able to add and subtract from the Available amount, not On hand amount.
@ShopifySupport@dressew Yes, still in the warehouse but the committed inventory includes inventory INSIDE ecommerce parcels. What's the use of that?
When we go to our warehouse and do a physical stock count, it will only correspond to the "available inventory".
Shopify no longer lets us edit available qty directly. This is one of the worst design implementations I've seen, especially on the mobile app.
Who cares about committed qty, we want available qty!
Please change it back. #shopify@ShopifySupport@tobi#overengineering
@tfol_sedso@WeichangLAI@ShopifySupport Exactly! Committed inventory is sold and doesn’t belong to me anymore. We do in store pickup and sometimes customers take weeks to pick up their orders, to have that inventory be included in the only number we can adjust is ridiculous.
Sure wish @shopify@ShopifySupport would leave things alone. Latest update includes things already sold as on hand inventory, essentially breaking our inventory controls. 2020 shopify was great, it’s been all downhill since.
