Day 2 of school.
Day 8 of protesting.
Brittany Alkonis is still in front of the @WhiteHouse, still waiting to talk with someone about the injustice occurring to #LtRidgeAlkonis
While their father is confined to a cell, alone, unable to hear his family’s voices. One friendly nation strives to destroy him while his own sits and watches. It’s not right @POTUS@FLOTUS
“A little dose of reality for the morning. All the pics I post have us smiling but that’s because there’s no time for pictures when my babies are falling apart. I spend HOURS each day holding heartbroken children. They are often crying for home, for daddy, or for their dog.” 1/
The crux of the matter is that this case forces the @DeptofDefense & @WhiteHouse to choose between supporting a foreign nation or an honorable American serviceman.
For the past 15-months, they’ve chosen the foreign nation.
🗓SAVE THE DATE:
Join @BrittanyAlkonis on Wednesday Sept 14th for a large peaceful gathering in front of the US Capitol to protest the unjust imprisonment of #LtRidgeAlkonis.
Protests will occur all that week in front of the Capitol, @WhiteHouse, and @JapanEmbDC.
The wife of a U.S. Navy lieutenant is fighting to free her husband from a Japanese jail. Lt. Ridge Alkonis was sentenced to three years in a Japanese jail after allegedly falling asleep behind the wheel of his car and crashing into a row of cars, killing two people.
Let's hope this happens quickly. There was no justice in this case and it has exposed three major concerns, inhumane Japanese prisons, unjust & biased courts, & lack of USG support for military personnel serving abroad.
