Kari K. and Drew S., met with the Ways and Means and Energy and Commerce Committees, including Rep. Brad Schneider's office, to discuss how the EMPOWER Act (H.R. 4878) improves access to outpatient therapy, helping patients recover faster.

Thank you @RepMMM for visiting with our hard working @Athletico therapists and therapist assistants. The Strengthening Medicare for Patients and Providers Act and the EMPOWER Act are crucial to ensuring Medicare beneficiaries continue to have timely access to PT/OT services.
Earlier this week, I visited Athletico Physical Therapy in North Liberty and Coralville to discuss patient care, staffing needs, supervision standards & the Strengthening Medicare for Patients and Providers Act. Thank you all for the discussion!
Thank you @SenatorCarper and @SenJohnBarrasso for introducing this common sense legislation to expand access to valuable healthcare services by EMPOWERing therapists and therapy assistants to deliver care when and where it’s needed most.
Thank you to Senators Carper and Barrasso for their leadership and support of the EMPOWER Act. Athletico continues to work to get this important legislation passed to create more accessible care across the U.S. Read more here – https://t.co/bzABeRwoDp
@NickHoopes_ Don’t forget the absurdly low cost of living in the greater Youngstown area. Not to mention being within an hour of Cleveland, Akron/Canton, and Pittsburgh.
This arbitrary and anticompetitive rule proposed by @OhioOTPTATBd puts the interests of licensees ahead of the patients we serve. This rule would be a violation of our code of ethics and abuse our patients most fundamental rights. Give patients the freedom to choose.
@NickHoopes_ @rwilly2003 I’d argue it’s because state licensing boards weren’t designed to promote evidenced based practice or to protect the public health and safety.
@NickHoopes_@NickHoopes_ , I’ll stop here, but I could keep going. Modern licensing boards are a threat to public health and in major need of reform. They’re a national embarrassment.
We congratulate Congressmen Rush on a successful career and thank him for his work to gain access to care for the elderly (H.R. 5536) and create greater diversity in the physical and occupational therapy industries (H.R. 3320) - https://t.co/VCy95W3Spc
Very excited to see Ohio State Senators @kristinaroegner and @Rob_McColley reintroduce Ohio SB 131 to establish universal occupational licensure reciprocity in Ohio. Thank you Senators! https://t.co/4JAkIH8gBg
While they mean well, @SenatorTimScott and
@SenBrianSchatz
don't do enough modernizing with their legislation.
