My heartfelt thanks to the authors for contributing to this nice piece of knowledge coming out of a country where such information are critical to progress on future epidemic and pandemic readiness and response. The HCWs need to be protected in any epidemics and pandemics for continuity of delivery of essential health care. Findings from such study will enable the countries to understand the barriers to improved uptake. We can only be as strong as our weakest links. @Abdulrazakibra

"Please bring your children to the nearest health center during this #WorldImmunizationWeek and get them a life-saving vaccine. Every child in Somalia deserves a better life". – an appeal from @mamun567 Dr. Malik, WHO Representative for @WHOSom
The resilience of health system and strength of thousands of health and care workers in saving lives during this unprecedented crisis cannot be undermined. We have opportunity now to address the health inequality which is the main driver of death. Let us act now, said @mamun567
Peshawar is known for peace & love. Check the history. Recently it was made a red flag. We fought for our peace, lost thousands of our lives. Children, women permanent disabilities & we got our Peshawar back. Will never let it a red flag. Peshawar will remain a symbol of peace.
Building a strong immunization system in a fragile setting will contribute to achieving #UHC. Immunization is the best health investment. This campaign will save lives of the children who are severely impacted by the drought and displacement.
.@MoH_Somalia with partners, @WHOSom@unicefsomalia and donors are implementing a nationwide 5-day integrated campaign from 12th November, targeting around 3.5 million children under 5. This includes measles vaccines, tOPV, vitamin A and deworming tablets & will boost immunity.
The country is expecting to reach 40% by end of 2022. This is possible, we are making it happen. By building a resilient and strong immunization system, we contribute to achieving #UHC in the country
We thank all our donors and partners for their constant trust & support to @WHOSom which continues to lead to successful coverage of #COVID19 vaccines in the country but improving routine #immunization for children as well.
The Investment in #COVID19 vaccination led to building health systems resilience in a fragile setting. More zero-dose children and children who missed out routine immunization have also been reached out with life-saving vaccines.
Somalia health authorities with partners, WHO &UNICEF are protecting people from disease by improving routine immunization and COVID-19 vaccine uptake. More than 45K Zero dose children vaccinated and close to 1.1 M COVID 19 vaccine doses administered in last 4month
This is how #WHO is saving millions of lives in #Somalia and elsewhere by implementing proven public health measures that have demonstrated impact in saving lives. Science and evidence guide all our interventions. #VaccinesSaveLives#Endcholera
The #COVID19 has seen a backslide in childhood #immunization. 1 in every 7 children have missed out RI in Somalia leaving a generation of children at risk. Important to build back better & identify children who have missed out
