@Espngreeny Good god. Considering time of possession in this game (including the 30 mins real time on ONE drive) you would thing Roger’s broken wrist and bloody nose would have had time to heal completely…..
@zarabaloc OK so maybe look at this as a hidden opportunity. In this early career phase, sometimes the pause is a priceless gem that you won’t fully realize until years or decades later. Look at it as part of the greater journey, not an unfortunate end point. Happy to help anytime.
@CMichaelGibson yeah this needs to be broken down by specialty. if the majority of the unmatched folks were targeting unrealistic programs, it tracks. if US grads are not matching into lower tier, rural and primary care programs then there’s room for a bigger discussion. The IMG thing isn’t new.
@JimAxelrod@CBSSunday good story, agree with the overall sentiment BUT there’s an element here not raised as counterpoint. we all saw the destruction and removal of monuments just a few years ago by people who didn’t agree with those either. different? maybe, but not by much. can’t have it both ways.
@FLSurgeonGen informed consent is always key. HOWEVER…..this argument would be stronger if, in fact, the information being digested in the “informed consent“ wasn’t reverse engineered to fit predetermined conclusions that aren’t scientific.
@DavidLBrownMD yep. gotta be careful with “always/never” statements….reeks of grandstanding. and it isn’t an issue of informed consent when patients are systematically misinformed by predetermined narrative wonks.
@DrNeilStone Yes both generally and specifically full of shit. This goon being given a platform is laughable. We have problems in US medicine, for sure. But allowing this interloper to spew is shameful.
@PaulZeise that’s a terrible take. Neutral site games with fake industry fans, controlled climates and generic announcers makes for some of the most boring games you could possibly imagine for ALL involved. Conference Championship weekend blows the doors off of SB weekend for true fans.
@rayfitt1 Let’s not forget the ill advised intentional grounding by Stidham that set up the Maye TD in the first place. Payton at least stayed relatively true to form.
@HeartOTXHeartMD Unfortunately for me, I lacked financial role models and just like my golf swing, I learned this stuff much later in life than I should have and it has been so much more work than it should have been.
@HeartOTXHeartMD I tell younger professional this all the time. Get financially literate early. Compounded interest works both ways. Ease into your growing finances like warming up for exercise. Don’t spend the rest of your career chasing debt and making career decisions based solely on this.
