The benefits of intermittent fasting are overwhelming and powerful. It changes your metabolism, it clears your mind and it helps you not be beholden to food and instead control what you’re eating. It’s also important that you must learn how to do it safely inappropriately.

To be healthy you must understand that there’s things you can control and things you can’t control. You can’t control the world around us. Not in any meaningful way. But you certainly can control what you put in your body, what you do with your body and how you treat yourself.

Some thoughts on life, death, health and happiness. I’ve always been focused on the patient in front of me. I tried to integrate what I know from a scientific medical standpoint with the person in front of me. How do my actions affect their lives?

[Gary Shlifer @drgaryevolve]

The Sapien diet and lifestyle has transformed my life and many of my patients' lives. Rather than a diet, it’s really a concept of a series of ideas that can help you understand how to navigate our modern broken food system.

In America our version of healthcare is really a model of sick care. We keep people sick on multiple drugs, giving them bad advice and alternately leading to more morbidity and mortality than we can even comprehend. I suggest we focus on preventative care and lifestyle medicine.

I had an amazing time working with BiOptimizers for their awesome health Podcast. Our conversation dove deep into my experience during training and what inspired me to develop my practice style. Thank you all for listening!

[Gary Shlifer @drgaryevolve]

Long before I developed the concept of the Sapien diet and lifestyle with @FoodLiesOrg I struggled with the management of my sick patients in the world of crappy high carb food. Here I share a story of my frustrations during my training.
