Posted the first UI on Reddit looking for feedback and someone literally commented "Run", since then @DrippedApp has come a long way, and I'm proud of myself with this UI coming as someone who hates designing and predominantly works on backend.
p.s thx to @_chuckyc and Framous for the beautiful frames
Day 32 of #buildinpublic of @DrippedApp for me and @RevenueCat#shipaton
After 3 months of hard and relentless work, Dripped is finally submitted to @AppStore Review! What started as a journey to beat procrastination has grown into a full blown app! It feels surreal that in 2 months I have been able to solo develop an entire iOS app, a backend and setup everything required for it .
I've learnt alot, and loving this game of building apps that you want. Next step pushing the app to people who do not know they want it yet!
As @paulg said, "Make something people want"; starting to live by this as I am going to develop more and more useful and well built apps that I want and ergo that people need.
Day 30 of #buildinpublic of @DrippedApp, the duolingo for dressing better for @RevenueCat#shipaton
iOS 26 is done and the app looks and feels so much better!
Another incremental change based on the Testflight feedback is to change the layout of the AI Outfit Creator View as it seemed confusing and users weren't able to properly look at the Outfit they created. So replaced the Split Pane UI with a different overlaying UI which has more space and can accommodate even more features like Virtual Try On. (Before UI in comments with testflight!)
With nearly 15 days to go, Dripped feels polished and would be available in the App Store next week!
P.S: the split pane UI isn't dead, I still have a very interesting and unique feature planned for it post release called Drip Check
Day 26 of #buildinpublic of @DrippedApp for @RevenueCat#shipaton
Made my first ever widget, icon placement inspired by @uglycash but not to their levels. It feels very basic for now need to think of a better design but the skeleton to work on is good for now.
And had a very painful learning of sharing code b/w targets. Need to separate core functionalities as packages to be reused in any target
Day 28+29 of #buildinpublic of @DrippedApp the duolingo for dressing better for @RevenueCat#shipaton
Last two days (and the next 2 days as well) have been fully focused on integrating iOS 26 and those juicy Liquid Glass APIs.
Based on initial user feedback from TF which mentioned that the Daily Outfit card is confusing as it contains multiple layers of Navigation with no detailing
Before:
Click Wear -> OOTD Card -> Click Try On -> Try On Result.
To see Recommendations need to go back
After:
Recommendations and OOTD outfits are of the same stack. Try On is a primary button on the Outfit Card so users can try on the recommendation as well without needing to mark it as OOTD.
Pending Minor task (which was actually mentioned by @coderabbitai from the refactor plan): Small identifier on the Outfit Card to denote if an outfit is a recommendation or an ootd.
Day 27 of #buildinpublic of @DrippedApp for @RevenueCat#shipaton
OH MY GODD IT HAPPENEDDD!!!!! I GOT MY FIRST EVER APP STORE ACCEPTANCE FEELs SURREAL
Just when I was thinking of quitting and moving on to smth else as I have been so down lately as this build was in review for 2 days. I was pretty sure it would be rejected and would have lots of issues but it got accepted!!!
This is so motivating and I’m gonna double down tmrw and make up for procrastinating the last 2 days by adding iOS 26 features, adding proper app store previews and lot more. Planning to finish off Dripped by end of next week to start work on a small yet impactful app that I had in my mind for such a long time. It solves a very big daily pain point for me and pretty sure it does for alot of yall as well!
Also the Testflight for Dripped is now available (link in replies) so please check it out and lmk your valuable thoughts 🙏
Day 25 of #buildinpublic of @DrippedApp for @RevenueCat#shipaton
IAP in TestFlight is now working!!! This means that public testflight is now available so check out the replies for the beta invite link
New build still in review and I'm guessing i'll know the results only on Monday.
Still refining the UI and logic, losing hope day by day as the app became too complicated and feels like im refactoring most of the time than building new features, 2 more days and i'll lose patience and call it done and move on to another app idea that I had. Lets see!
p.s please lmk your thoughts on the app
Day 17 of #buildinpublic of @DrippedApp for @RevenueCat#Shipaton
It was a boring day, had to figure out alot of stuff in App Store Connect for Legal TM and to please the overlords.
One good things was Apple requires a Terms and Privacy URL and that is mostly hosted on a website. So I went and quickly whipped up a website (link down below) added a boiler plate input box and button for Testflight (doesn't work for now).
Day 18 of #buildinpublic of @DrippedApp for @RevenueCat#Shipaton
The RevenueCat integration is successfully done. Waiting for Apple approval of the initial build to test once.
Next plan is to integrate RevenueCat's new Virtual Currencies to setup a credit system for the Virtual TryOn and Extract features!
p.s thanks @coderabbitai, if it weren't for you this would have been a messed up pr as Claude has no clue on the current RevenueCat docs
Day 16 of #buildinpublic of @DrippedApp for @RevenueCat#shipaton
Setting up the RevenueCat SDK was a breeeezeee, now for the hard part setting up everything else to please the apple overlords for approval.
Screenshots, Privacy Pages, Copyright ahhh... so boring 😭. It's going to be either just a boring looking Terms page or the most beautiful looking one there is no in between.
Hello @perplexity_ai@AskPerplexity , get ready for the most stupid as* questions you are ever gonna get about these. (Thanks #ShipKit)
Day 11 +12 of #buildinpublic of @DrippedApp for @RevenueCat#Shipaton
BIG FEATURE RELEASE 🥳 [Watch till the end]
No more the need of scanning each item individually, you can just send a picture of what you are wearing to Dripped and we will scan and get a product outfit of it thanks to the new powerful Qwen Image Edit on @FAL
This is a feature I was working day & night for the last two days, spending a lot on token credits just to get the prompt ready and client side code to extract the object separately, 100 likes and i'll drop how I did it (will drop later if not lol I want to share this oss ftw!)
I got so worked up on this and gave up halfway most of the time, as the image gen or extraction didn't work my way. Had to abandon like 3 PRs as some part of the flow worked while the other didn't, guess 4 is the lucky charm!
This one of the feature most requested by my best friend, shoutout to her!
p.s still needs some work on the UI part like removing the trademark claude gradient on the button and some more info to the user on what's happening.
Day 13 of #buildinpublic of @DrippedApp for @RevenueCat#shipaton
Not much tweet worthy done today, except getting started with RevenueCat integration as the core features are now done.
Other than that, polished the UI for selfie extract feature by removing the AI slop and optimized it. Finally finished setting up the @coderabbitai + Claude Code + Github Vibe Coding Travel Kit, with which I can vibe code on the go! Will be putting up a video on this soon!
Day 14 of #buildinpublic of @DrippedApp for @RevenueCat#shipaton
4 out of 5 checklist done with getting started with RevenueCat.
✅ App Store Connect Subscriptions
✅ RC Product, Entitlements, Offering
✅ RCManager for managing in app
⏳ Restricting views based on subscription
⏳ Test Purchase
⏳ API Integration with backend
This weekend will be fully about integrating RevenueCat completely and opening up Testflight.
Day 8 of #buildinpublic of @drippedapp for @RevenueCat#shipaton
Today was all about thinking of new design and 0 coding, all part of building.
The current onboarding sucks as it is still AI generated boilerplate, thanks to @RevenueCat ShipKit I have begun exploring/stealing onboarding designs of successful apps on @mobbin.
They have such a vast and beautifully curated collections with in-depth flows and explanations.
After finalizing my onboarding design I'm planning on making a video on it, adding it to the queue 2 planned - 0 done.
Oh and also new X handle for Dripped, drop a follow!
