@NYTimesPR@brianstelter How are these Gestapo-like tactics good for our country? While I might not always agree with what journalists write, they have a Constitutionally guaranteed right to report the news. Without that freedom, Democracy dies.
@PeterKinder 2. All who are D’s or R’s (I don’t know what I am these days) should also pay attention to the majority of Americans who equally distrust the Republican and Democratic Parties. The Pew survey finds distrust in both:

@PeterKinder Good to hear from you, Peter. Hope all is well in Cape Girardeau. Two thoughts:
1. Likely a majority of those who identify as D’s love our country but are so sick of the President’s character and actions they long for the stability of some other place.
I think it’s time for Congress to stop kicking the can down the road on fixes to Social Security. There are some tough choices to be made, but inaction is the wrong choice.
Americans' Social Security benefits will have to be cut by roughly a quarter in six years due to depleted funds, according to a June 9 report from the Social Security Board of Trustees. That's months sooner than the group had estimated in 2025. https://t.co/8WRwxJkhwt
@PeterKinder The whacko left doesn’t define the Democratic Party any more than the whacko right defines the Republican Party. Whether it’s Democratic socialists or Christian nationalists, I think most Americans reject extremism in favor of pragmatism that brings a higher quality of life.
“Our identity as a nation – unlike many other nations – is not determined by geography or ethnicity, by soil or blood. Being an American involves the embrace of high ideals and civic responsibility.
We become the heirs of Thomas Jefferson by accepting the ideal of human dignity found in the Declaration of Independence. We become the heirs of James Madison by understanding the genius and values of the U.S. Constitution. We become the heirs of Martin Luther King, Jr., by recognizing one another not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”—George W. Bush
Happy 250th, America! 🇺🇸
@NickBSchroer America has been shaped by Christianity, but we are not a “Christian nation”. We are a nation where we are free to be Christian—as I am— but the Constitution prohibits a “state religion”. That’s an important distinction. Btw, Jefferson, Franklin, and Paine rejected Christianity.
@FreedompplMO@Clubb4Missouri I don’t like out-of-state interests funding any MO ballot campaign. Gov Kehoe says “out-of-state special interests” are influencing efforts to amend the constitution. But his amendment to eliminate the state income tax has received $1.9M from a Delaware company. Double standard?
@WesleyHuntTX@gatewaypundit@WesleyHuntTX you’ve turned good news regarding America’s hospitality shown to World Cup visitors into a political swipe against your policy opponents. Just remember, sir, despite kookie ideas on the right or left, most folks are proud to show off our country to foreign guests.
