There he is, still enjoying his childhood dream job despite the past monthโs best efforts to wear him down! Come out of that now and my passion for the industry and the job has never been stronger.
On a bit of a twitter break at the moment but thought Iโd pop back on to wish you all a Merry Christmas etc.
Have this photo of 57604 in full GW regalia waiting to haul the down beds at Paddington a couple days ago.
@87027wolf As much as I enjoy driving IETs in and out of Paddington, there was nothing like standing under that roof and being shaken to pieces by the MTU rumble of 5-6 HSTs idling away.
Thought I could hear the dulcet tones of a Sprinter as I was walking down Reading TCD and I was correct, as I got to the station as this little package of magnificence was idling away. 153385 now making itself useful for Colas and NR inspecting the track!
One for @bessbbe
A couple of hours in the down sidings at Oxford a few days ago allowed me to grab a video of #Team70 70004 passing through with 4S59 Southampton - Coatbridge - thought this screenshot was pretty good - video to follow.
Is there much better than a quiet night time being shattered by the roar/scream of a freight train? #Team70 represented by 70015 running a whopping 46 early this morning with 4E91 Southampton MCT - Leeds FLT
Love bringing up our IET job on the weekdays! Something a bit different on the route to Banbury, makes me feel like an XC driver with no intermediate stops ๐
Another 'pip & wave' from our driver followers, with @DriverStuvvs at the controls of the only booked @GWRHelp #IET diagram to visit Banbury.
After arriving in from #Paddington with 1M92, here is the return woking...

Had to go for a quick checkup with Occy Health yesterday so parked down in Didcot. Was greeted with 60046 rumbling the place down starting away from a signal check. 60s might be the one loco that trump 70s for me, itโs very close but how can you not love a 60?
@BrianNe08342467 Back when I was a kid 60s were regular on the Theale - Margam tanks through my local, got all sorts of liveries back then too. Made a difference in a world of uniform EWS 66s and HTAs going to Didcot. Was still going out to see it right up until they out 66/6s on it.
