βI have never been shy of my mum.β
Months after making headlines for proudly bringing her mother to her graduation, Georgina Nsiah Konadu talks about what that moment truly meant to her.
While many would shy away from public attention for fear of stares and stigma, the graduate did the exact opposite. She walked onto her graduation grounds, holding tightly to her mother, Mary Boateng, who lives with facial scars after surviving a near-fatal accident.
For Georgina, it was never a moment of shame, but a declaration of pride and gratitude.
