@ThePhDPlace Try to join a group/sport/society which meets at least once a week and has nothing to do with your PhD life. Gives a regular space where you aren't 'a PhD student' and you don't compare yourself to peers (even if unconsciously), plus a defined time you step away from work

@rli22 I was only in the US for a year of study in 2007 and I still find myself pronouncing Me, Et, Pr and Ph the American way relatively often. Genuinely took me a couple of weeks to work out why my OChem professor kept talking about fennel!
