@synchronicon [you're turning a corner on your way to check on the table arrangements when a bony hand catches your elbow, and a familiar drawl asks] Just a moment of your time.
@synchronicon Excellent. One can only hope. [gravitates towards the door, but no longer like he's fleeing] She's rather determined to go through with this either way. The woman is a fool for you, she might as well enjoy herself about it.
@synchronicon [well, it's better than you making him feel vulnerable. one corner of his lip quirks up] I have reason to believe this will go uninterrupted. She was quite cross that only one of her spies could attend today's event, but I assured her that I was the ideal candidate.
@synchronicon [good job, it's effective, he huffs and pulls at his vest, straightening it as a subconscious fidget] Yes, yes, you're WELCOME. No need to break out the waterworks.
@synchronicon [for a moment it's like seeing his teenage self all over again, a bit flustered and out of his depth] I still believe that you're a pathetic excuse for an educator, and that this school faces a constant risk of losing all the esteem it has ever had as a result of your negligence.
@synchronicon [oh don't do this to him, don't make him address this, he grimaces] When I realized you have a pugnacious ability to endure despite the odds, in defiance of even magickal sciences. I have been forced to admit that the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
@synchronicon Already in the process. But that takes time, and we should utilize advantages at our disposal as soon as they are available to us. Also, as I previously indicated, I believed it would make a good wedding gift.
@synchronicon Well, I would recommend testing it beforehand. My own lungs have been moderately inconsequential ever since the bogge transformation and aren't threatened by the spores. It did work on the rodents in trial, if that's any consolation.
@synchronicon It's taken some time, but I believe I've managed to create a... let's call it an antimycotic antidote. [holds it up for inspection] A breath into your lungs will synthesize the chemical and keep your body clear of parasitic particles, for what I anticipate will be several hours.
@synchronicon [snorts] As if either of you need provocation. [opens hand to reveal: an object that appears much like an inhaler, transparent blue liquid swirling inside] The air in the mirror world has been impacting your lungs, hasn't it?
@synchronicon [he holds up his hand. there is something clenched inside] And social expectation says that this is an ideal time for a meaningful gift. That it should be something that the couple might find USEFUL in their new union. I believe this should satisfy that requirement.
@synchronicon [his eyes narrow as he wills himself into what he has to do] Sentiment is not... a well-used tool within my skillset. But I am aware that our futures plans must intersect, and that we are both searching for a solution to what is ultimately the same problem. //
@synchronicon I wouldn't dream of it. I've heard plenty of stories from Dr. Isley over the years. [leans against the porcelain sink] Any other threats you'd like to make, or can we get this over with?
@synchronicon Naturally. But SHE can't hear us here. Should we borrow a room? [asked as his gaze flicks towards an arriving gaggle of richly dressed guests]
@synchronicon I'm quite sure there will be, but what I've brought you is in limited supply, and also best kept in the dark. [his hand slips into a pocket but does not reemerge] You see, I've been thinking about our mutual... predicament. Is it correct to assume there are tighter wards today?
@synchronicon [allows you to do this with an air of amusement; your inspection brings to light that he's already dressed for the event, simple gothic blacks as per the bride's request] No. I also have a gift.
