@DrDamluji@NEJM Treating HCM before outflow obstruction isn’t treatment, it’s prevention. We all know statins make a difference, but if we folllow the patients up for 48 months we won’t see the effect. We need a proper 10 year follow up RCT before we draw any conclusions
@NEJM That being said, I would think this is enough to stop indiscriminately beta blocking all acs patients. Keep in mind that the evidence to do so was sketchy at best to begin with. Amazing work @njem and team
@NEJM I use Reddit mostly to dispute the intrinsic validity of published trials. I have to say, this RCT is actually bullet proof. The only flaw I could find is on the ext validity in that these are all Spanish European patients.

@DrDamluji@NEJM Can we see the actual raw numbers of ischaemic stroke across the groups? Any doc worth their salt won’t accept ‘no significant difference’ from an abstract
@SkyHelpIreland the sky broadband in our place at Conyngham Road in Islandbridge, Dublin 8 has been constantly going out the last few days. Is this going to keep happening? Is there a reason for it?

@DrEricLevi The poor neurologists get told so many long stories about penises and they’re always too polite to cut you off, even when they realize you probably asked the switchboard for urology
@drgarethroberts Muscles of the forearm with their tendon insertions and blood supply. Let surgeons learn that post graduate and leave the rest of us alone please x
@mmamas1973@GHCardiology Playing devils advocate here not looking to argue; the post says as first operator and not senior clinician. My guess is he had a structural consultant as second operator?
