At webinar on Primary Care during the Alberta Provincial Election, I asked if family caregivers would be included in primary care. The answer: "This is not the time."
My question, "If not now, when are we going to recognize family caregivers in primary care, in all healthcare?"
When you are a #caregiver the role is often 24/7. When you are a caregiver & then become a patient, that 24/7 job becomes untenable. Canada does not have the supports necessary to fill this gap. We desperately need a robust caregiver strategy & #LongCOVID has made the need urgent
