Amazing work getting this off the ground team. YAS running its first accredited @ResusCouncilUK internal ALS course, look forward to more of them in the near future ๐ช ๐
What does being listed on the Specialist Register demonstrate for a leadership position? Some of the most talented consultants are appalling leaders with poor personal skills but great at their clinical roles. Life experience and personality is key in leadership. #SASsix
SAS doctors (and dentists) generally have a less hierarchical relationship with other colleagues in their workplace which earns them genuine respect and followership. #SASsix
Effective leadership is borne of experience at the 'sharp end'. SAS doctors collectively have years of being the most senior clinicians immediately available at the most challenging times of day. #SASsix
Is it your dream to become a paramedic? Find out how you can kick-start your clinical career with us on our apprenticeship programme, starting as an Ambulance Support Worker and progressing from there.

@theSAScollect Use values and experience driven recruitment to include all appropriate candidates.
Both @EMASNHSTrust and @YorksAmbulance hired SAS doctors as their Deputy Medical Directors.

@theSAScollect Recently, after 10 years as an Executive Medical Director, it was suggested I wasn't a credible leader because I wasn't a consultant. #SASsix
@theSAScollect Recognition that the title 'consultant' isn't automatically associated with credibility in a role not directly related to their speciality training. #SASsix
@AMColian@theSAScollect Completely agree Immad. It's important for SAS doctors to seek out opportunities that are not part of their own mainstream speciality. #SASsix
