@beachcondoking@GarNob The sickness part of in sickness and in health is the one most don’t know how to manage once it comes. It’s heart warming to see when it’s displayed.
@TravelBluez@rPan1993 Totally safe for women, especially single moms! She can let a room in her home to strangers and clean up after them.
Or you can rent a room from a guy with three roommates and he will clean thoroughly for you. Was wonderful back then
@TravelBluez@foolrushingin You are saying that it is possible to have random guests “clean” after a stay and that the next guests didn’t notice or complain? I don’t think it’s possible. A negative review would never be worth it. It’s a weird talking point if you consider reviews for ten seconds 🤷♀️
@BryceWGarcia Airbnbs can’t absorb a single night cost. In our area one night stay costs owners. Only large corporate chains can absorb that (lowering their overall rate average) which helps them, hurts small owners.
@jflocc13@strawberrygeli That’s just not affordable for so many now, especially with resort food prices. I personally get tired of going out for meals constantly. I want a kitchen and don’t want to wait in line for coffee every morning. 🙂
@jflocc13@strawberrygeli Trying to standardize the array of accommodations w/out actual available support isn’t realistic (IMO) + kitchens 🫠
Reviews not perfect but weed out bad ones quickly, they won’t even show up in your search. (Platforms just significantly raised rates during this “debate” BTW)
I’ve seen the same two “chore lists” pasted over and over. One about the bears. 🐻 weird stuff everyone. Hanging with roaches instead of starting the dishwasher and taking out your nasty trash is definitely a choice & likely to blow back 😬 a week of left dishes & trash ew
@jflocc13@strawberrygeli They are just different and can’t be treated the same. Linens have to be addressed in all of this noise or the larger options will opt out. Cleaning services walk away from anything beyond a turnover clean. They are BOOKED. I don’t think most of the arguments make any sense.
@AConcernedPare2 Airbnb is doing fine. And they aren’t the same thing. VRBO is trying to recruit 3 + bedroom houses w/ incentives because too many have exited before these ”new rules”. Way too much work.
@NotoriousAirbnb Starter supplies have been 20-30 years. Lots of guest complaints if closets are full of paper products. Linens used to be an add on and I see that coming back as a way to better track and clarify costs. Some had third party linen company links or phone numbers. 🤷♀️
@jflocc13@strawberrygeli How long does it take to wash and dry a load at your house? Time dramatically changes with one extra load. Depends on size, how many people using towels. The cheapo micro fiber sheets are icky and mean more sweaty nastiness into mattresses 😭 bad reviews for cheap sheets
@ggetzie@etubruton This is also a platform and local laws issue. You can look at the same house on 3 platfitms and all the cleaning fees are “different”. But rate is same. One says no more than 10% should show as cleaning even when the actual cost is 2-3x. Outsourced vs in house corporate.
