@ozvascdoc And … being a “physicianly surgeon” is what modern vascular surgery is all about. Often great savings to be made through diligent assessment of risks and application of guidelines - none of the extra effort is rewarded except through patients’ and their families gratitude.

@ozvascdoc Sadly, it is broadly perceived that charging a “gap” for such services is going to the “Dark-side”. Your astutely illustrative case suggests that the current system is unsustainable. In QLD the public system your time would be remunerated perhaps 10x the Medicare rebate funding.
