Recently the portal uploaded a video covering the vandalism at a Kali Puja Pandal at Dakshindari area (adjacent to Ultadanga) in Kolkata.
The video got a substantial amount of views and is getting viral.

Mamata Police who failed to secure the Kali Puja Pandal and desecration of Maa Kali's idol, arrested Journalist Ananyo Gupta today.
It seems, his fault is that he was covering the truth.

This is not just about Free Press, this is an attempt to suppress those voices which raise an alarm when the Sanatan Dharma is under attack in West Bengal.

In what could put any dictator to shame, Mamata Banerjee’s police swooped down on the office of Madhyom, a digital media enterprise, for reporting attacks on Hindus during Kali Puja at Dakshindari and another at Rajabazar, in the heart of Kolkata. The videos were widely viral but the jobless Kolkata Police spent hours in Madhyom’s office, confiscated hard disks and ‘interrogated’ the reporter, endlessly.

West Bengal is a police State and Mamata Bannerjee a tinpot dictator, who wants to squeeze out all space for dissent. There is no freedom of speech and media is subjected to relentless suppression.

Instead of acting like doormat of the ruling TMC and spending copious hours targeting media, it would be best if Kolkata Police focussed on law and order. The embers of RG Kar rape and murder are still alive.
