@SionCharles Main hall for more. Speaking x2 this pm - @VelindreTrust collaborative centre and @SoMSwansea PhD updates. #HIWBRIS healthcare innovation, clinical staff wellbeing and burnout. Researching interactions and solutions. Come and listen!! @jennet_holmes
Totally agree - and more than that: also time to develop, understand and safely deliver tomorrow's new treatments. It's a dilemma - moral distress if we don't; benefit but risk of overload/burnout if we do it all. Workforce plans must include time for innovation/research etc
To keep delivering modern cancer care we need a joined up, realistic strategy of how to actually deliver them in a totally overwhelmed system -the oncologist exhaustion(CO&MO) is shared by onc nurses and pharmacists too @RCRadiologists@ACPUK@UKONSmember@BOPACommittee
Great to see this recognised at such a wonderful celebration event. Even better to see the real difference it makes to patients with advanced lung cancer. Thank you to everyone involved @Lung_Ca_Wales
🌟 Llongyfarchiadau mawr to everyone involved in the QuicDNA study who took home a @MoondanceCancer Award last night!
🧬 QuicDNA is a pioneering study which aims to transform the way lung cancer is diagnosed in Wales.

Thank you to everyone who joined us!
@Liz_ORiordan We agree that the UK urgently needs a comprehensive plan to support the radiology and cancer workforce. In our new census reports, we've set out a three-point plan for how the next government can recruit, train and retain the doctors we need: https://t.co/wMX5V08zBO
.@cardiffuni's flagship social sciences hub sbarc|spark has won a coveted Royal Society of Architects in Wales (@The_RSAW) Award.
The judges described sbarc|spark as a ‘place that exudes innovation and joy.’ - https://t.co/SZzE0rxPM6

Our census reports help influence changes to improve your working lives and benefit your patients.
We will continue to advocate on your behalf, represent your views, and build the reputation of clinical radiology and clinical oncology, both nationally and locally.
Our 2023 census reports should act as a wake-up call for the next government 🚨
They reveal dangerous shortages in doctors essential in the diagnosis and treatment of #cancer.
Read our three-point plan to recruit, train and retain the doctors we need: https://t.co/Bz6qpO8gXf
Our doctors are essential in diagnosing and treating cancer, yet they feel more overworked, burnt out and demoralised than ever before.
We must commit to stemming the flow of highly trained doctors leaving the NHS and invest in retention measures.
So true, Amy. Change takes time (>1 meaning to that!). Initially there's an increase in demands on clinical staff - on top of existing clinical workload. We know many are struggling with high workload, workforce problems, burnout. Need system 'slack' to get benefits from change
Yes - that's Tom and Sion giving it large at ISPIM - both part of the Innovation ILA massif. Big up to @WGHealthandCare@WG_innovation@WGEconomy learning and sharing together with the world of innovation.
