Maybe if we call it a “freeway” the second busiest rail corridor in the nation could get repaired? Worked pretty good for the I-10 — how long did that take again? A week?

Total failure that decades after Berkeley pioneered the bicycle boulevard concept, our kids are still crossing unsignalized arterials like this on their way to school.
The City needs to start funding these upgrades NOW.
An additional 64.5 miles of traffic calmed neighborhood bike routes were also recommended in Oakland's 2019 bike plan update. Of that only 2 miles of streets (Plymouth and Shafter) meet the city's current, minimum design standard, or 3.1% of the total.
Oakland's award-winning bike plan adopted in 2019 includes a recommended 51 miles of protected bikeway citywide. Nearly 5 years later, of that 51 miles only 2.3 miles has been completed, or 4.5% of the network.
