One issue the right has yet to deal with is the asymmetry in accountability vis-a-vis the Swamp.

When a conservative clashes with the Swamp, he gets convicted in 15 minutes by a DC jury. When attempts are made to hold a member of the Swamp accountable (ie, the Sussman acquittal in a case brought by Durham), an acquittal usually follows.

A DC jury would likely view Fauci has an almost divine figure. Such a jury would unquestionably vote to nullify any case against him.

I remember when I worked at CNN and saw @davidaxelrod in the green room. Asked a question that continues to befuddle me. Never got a satisfying response. Here goes again: During entire SCOTUS history, when has there EVER been a liberal justice — appointed by a Democrat POTUS — considered to be a “swing vote,” in the tradition of a Justice Anthony Kennedy. So rare to see the three liberal justices on the current court now EVER act as a “swing vote.”

And yet, Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, ACB, and Chief Justice Roberts (MANY TIMES) side with the liberal wing. Why? Think that Sotomayor or Kagan or KBJ would EVER take a *consequential position not aligned with their preferred ideology? Serious question. Why are “swing votes” almost always right to left? 🤔

The answer to this is extremely simple: The Colorado bakery was being asked to make a customized cake festooned with messages and symbols celebrating values they opposed.

The bakery would not have been permitted to refuse to sell a generic cake to the gay couple.

The coffee shop is just being expected to serve a regular cup of coffee to someone whose ethnicity the owner doesn’t like.
