The largest COVID study to date — covering nearly four years of data and 29 million people — delivers a clear result.
Out of the sample, 23 million were vaccinated and 6 million were not. Among the vaccinated, the risk of dying from COVID was 74% lower, with ZERO increase in deaths from any other cause.
Of course, none of this will change the minds of anti-vaxxers. They will blame the researchers, politics, or even Ukraine. And that’s not a joke — people with anti-vaccine attitudes are significantly more likely to believe that “NATO provoked” the russian war against Ukraine.
@Miazolam I remember driving in for my July4th overnight PGY2 serving as the trauma resident that night. Drove past a huge multi block party near the hospital. 6 GSW's that night. I knew I wasn't an intern after that shift.
@mhjrad I love this book. It's dated and some will be turned off by that but it's such a great read and so many phrases we still use in the ER come from it.
I have no doubt that my love of MASH contributed to my career choice as an emergency physician. I loved all of these characters. Thank you Loretta Swit for the impact you had on my life. RIP
I don't know if there is a more appropriate goodbye to Loretta Swit, than her last scene in MASH in the series finale.
Loretta won two Emmy's for her role as Major Houlihan.
@KirkHerbstreit Thank you for using your platform (and hopefully some funds) by offering to partner to help evaluate young people who may be at risk for sudden death from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. I hope someone, at least at OSU, takes you up on in.
@olsonplanner Consider getting an executive coach. It can help you understand your values and priorities, help you achieve goal setting, reduce burnout, and improve your work life balance.
