Good morning. Long rant.
For the uninitiated, this is what happens when the Government and Courts decide who can use the "Doctor" title India, rather than use logic and reasoning to define medical professional work.
Government of India has allowed all alternative medicine practitioners to use the title of 'Dr.'
The Courts have recently allowed Physiotherapists also to use the title of 'Dr.' when they do not even know how to take a blood sample or check temperature in an infant (nurses know all of these and more - they should also be called doctors then).
This abuse of Dr. title in India, has led to a barrage of quacks (legalized as well as illegal) entering the social media scene as 'doctors.' The public and patients are extremely confused as to who a 'real' doctor is. 'Real' doctors with hard earned degrees are finding it difficult to cope with this 'New India' where healthcare has become nationalistic, communal and post-truth (our way vs. your way) instead of driven by science, evidence, humanism and rationality.
The post below discuss one such incident (out of many that happen every day). The VRK Healthcare has nothing to do with healthcare in reality. The image that you see in the VRK logo is of Mr. Veeramachaneni Ramakrishna, an Indian chartered accountant from Vijayawada and creator of the quack "Veeramachaneni Diet Plan."
On social media he calls himself Dr. VRK - and not one person in the regulatory authority is bothered - not even the so-called regional medical clinical societies in India. Patients flock to him, because all his videos showcase hope and promises, based on zero evidence. No one wants evidence. People are happy with mediocre content, shallow promises and shortcuts.
Take a look the prescription. This is not a what a doctor would prescribe. The coconut oil prescription itself amounts to 87g of saturdated fat a day that can cause a heart attack in the patient which will kill him before the cancer does. The rest of the products are all either benign supplements or propritary Ayurveda and Siddha 'medicines.' And see the cost of the treatment. It is nearly 40,000 Indian rupees ($450 USD).
In my opinion, this fraud chartered accountant turned 'doctor' and his team of quacks would be paying the officials their due. This is why no one will point fingers at him or investigate him. Corruption is rampant everywhere. Doctors are all busy trying to survive and no one wants to take up arms against this quack or such quacks. If anyone does, then the defamation suits will come one-by-one.
What I am trying to say is that, public health, individual lives and upholding of values in medical and healthcare is corrupted and dying, in India. And day-by-day, I am finding it easier to believe that the Indian populace deserve it, rather than fight it to show them the truth.
Maybe, people are messaging/replying to me out of good will, but messages like, "be careful", "take police protection" etc are a bit disturbing. I am not against any particular company.
All I am asking is
1 Be transparent, especially when it comes to foods/drinks that children may consume
2. Avoid misleading branding, labelling, and marketing
3. Ensure irrational combinations of medicines are not given permission for @MoHFW_INDIA
4. Ensure the so called cough and cold syrups are available only with a prescription @MoHFW_INDIA
5. To ensure there is no availability of those drops which are not supposed to be given to babies, rather than making them available with a disclaimer @MoHFW_INDIA
6. To ensure one paracetamol strength One India to avoid medication errors @MoHFW_INDIA
7. To not let paediatricians endorse milk mixes, gummies etc, to not let them reveal child's privacy on social media @MoHFW_INDIA@NMC_IND
8. To ensure different medicines and different strengths are not available with similar brand names (especially the children's medicines) @MoHFW_INDIA
9. To not add artificial sweeteners, caffeine etc to daily hydration drinks/WHO recommended formula ORS etc.
I do not think companies will be so unethical as to target me. Instead, they can work towards ethical branding and marketing, transparent labelling, safe combinations of medicines for children.
Govt. should definitely ensure antibiotics too are not given OTC
Requesting @drreddys
again to ensure their 1ml=10mg cetirizine formulation doesn't come with a dropper which measures more than 0.25ml

This was shared with me by a retailer Rara Medical Store from Chattisgarh, and when I said, "I will hide the name and number, and share the screen shot", he said, "you can share my name. No problem. You have fought so much for the children. This is the least I can do. It's my duty"!
Thanks to him for the alert! My question to the Honourable minister of Commerce and Industry @PiyushGoyalOffc@CimGOI is, "how was trademark licence given so fast, and that too, to a similar trademark as ORSL inspite of knowing how much damage ORSL did to the children of this country?". My question to the Honourable Health Minister @JPNadda@MoHFW_INDIA is, "Sir, how did FSSAI allow this?".
My question to the Honourable Prime Minister @narendramodi, "Sir, why are corporate interests being prioritized over public health?"
We need answers!
