@levelsio Risk reward ratio for deadlift is not there!
Unless your main goal is to deadlift a certain weight I truly would advise against it for fitness and health purposes
Find the method that works for you
Some people it is intermittent fasting, others it is changing a diet completely (like keto)
All of them are a different path to a caloric deficit
After 8+ years lifting, 10+ bulk/cut cycles here is mine:
- Granola yoghurt and dates for breakfast: 400 calories
- Coffee to keep me full until lunch
- 900 calorie lunch, I literally eat whatever
- 900 calorie dinner, again I eat whatever as long as it fits calories
= 2200 calories, 500kcal deficit
And I don't really count calories. For lunch and dinner i just eat til I feel full and it works for me
as soon as i do A BIT of calorie tracking, like even the tiniest attempt .. the app/method/ai/whatever doesnt matter...
i just HATE HATE HATE HATE it and know this is not a way to live no matter if ur goal is to get skinny or bulky or whatever
fuck calorie tracking
@frederickjames So was the initial learning phase of 1-2 weeks unprofitable for you? I thought if it is not close to break even week 1 it is a failed experiment. Does it improve that much?
Very cool product (if it works) - I would definitely get this for my gf
Although I will say that looks like the most vibe coded app UI in the history of vibe coded app UIs

Everyone owns skincare products, but nobody knows what's actually working.
Today, @theantheaguo and I launch @lumeriaskin (YC S26) to end that.
The Lumoscope is a multispectral camera that clips onto your phone and scans your skin at home with the same light used in clinics, so you see what a mirror can't: a breakout days before it surfaces, and sun damage years before it shows.
Every scan is scored on hydration, redness, texture, and sebum, and it compounds into a record of your own skin. Lumi reads that history, connects flare-ups to causes you'd never suspect, and matches products to YOUR data, instead of a population average.
Preorders are officially open today at $199 only until Aug 16th. Starting today, skincare will no longer feel like guessing. βοΈ
@adamlyttleapps@nikitabier Agreed - poor guy
Although the app store bans might be justified due to the questionable tactics
Don't think X ban was warranted
25 companies have paid me over $120,000 to put their logos on my toilet
but im not stopping until $1,000,000
so i built an interactive website where you can live monitor the progress
HARD DISAGREE
Assuming the money you want is 50k per year
50k / 0.04 = 1.25 million
But you don't want all that in equities in case of a market crash right? So realistically you have a 80/20 portfolio if you are young
Assuming 10% return for equities, 5% return for bonds (both of which is relatively generous)
10% * 0.8 + 5% * 0.2 = 9% return on 1.25 million
But wait you have a tax of 40% on income generated by the bonds, 20+% capital gains
So after tax your return is
(10% - (20% * 10%)) * 0.8 + (5% - (40% * 5%)) * 0.2
= 7% after tax
7% of Β£1.25m is Β£87.5k
Withdraw Β£50k and you have Β£37.5k left
Assuming 3% inflation, you need exactly Β£37.5k just to preserve the real value of your portfolio
So even under generous assumptions, there is no margin for fees, poor returns, or a market crash early in retirement
Β£1.25m is the robotic "optimal" figure but I don't think it works in real life
I repeat, Max's ads are not profitable so take all of this advice with a massive grain of salt
Not to hate. But if you are going to give people advice in all caps it might as well come from a position of credibility
STOP RECORDING THE SAME ADS OVER AND OVER AGAIN IF THEYRE NOT WORKING.
TRY DIFFERENT TEMPLATES.
HIGHLIGHT DIFFERENT USE CASES OF YOUR APP.
THE VIDEOS YOU THINK ARE STUPID ARE THE ONES THATLL PRINT
@oscarfalll@pallyai Yessir gmail calendar via plugins
I never really needed it to use whatsapp except one time
And then I just had it use computer use to send some messages
But yeah I used to use Poke a lot and even that feels less and less useful compared to Codex
I desperately need Codex to be able to call people for me
Already handles my admin stuff such as talking to support chat for refunds/replacements
If only it could call as well - the live voice mode is definitely good enough
@oscarfalll@pallyai Oh nice!
Although probably won't use (got subscription fatigue)
And I really only need this feature added. Otherwise codex already covers 99% of my "personal assistant" needs
Will is on starter story (episode dropped an hour ago)
Even though he used arguably very shady tactics you gotta feel for a guy going through the indie hacker journey, finally things clicking and then getting banned on X and App Store all within a week
Hope he gets stuff sorted
